The Girl Who Appeared in My Dreams Before I Ever Met Her

A mystery-emotional, reality-bending story

I never believed in strange coincidences, and I definitely never believed in destiny. But everything changed the night I saw her—not in real life, but in a dream so vivid it felt like someone had opened a window into another world.

My name is Haider, and this is the story of the girl who walked into my dreams

three nights in a row… before she ever existed in my real life.

Night One: The Girl by the Lake

The first dream came on a cold Wednesday night.

I remember it clearly because I had gone to sleep with a headache after a long day at work.

In the dream, I was standing by a lake I had never seen before. The water was dark, still, almost like glass. Mist floated on the surface, and the air felt heavy.

Then I saw her.

A girl sitting at the edge of the lake, her back towards me.

Long black hair.

Pale grey shawl.

Bare feet touching the water.

I didn’t know her—not in real life—but I remember feeling like I should know her.

She turned slightly, enough for me to see her profile. She wasn’t smiling, but there was something calm, almost familiar, in her expression.

Before I could speak, she whispered:

“You’re late.”

I woke up instantly.

Heart racing.

Hands cold.

Late for what?

Who was she?

Why did I feel like I’d seen her before?

Night Two: She Knows My Name

The second night, I wasn’t expecting another dream.

But it came.

This time, I was standing in a narrow street. Old brick houses. A dim streetlight flickering. Silence everywhere.

She stood under the streetlight.

Same hair. Same shawl. Same cold expression that somehow felt warm.

“Why didn’t you come sooner?” she said.

I felt my throat tighten.

“Do I… know you?”

She stepped closer.

“Of course, you do, Haider.”

Hearing my name in that dream…

It was like someone had poured ice water down my back.

“How do you know my name?” I asked.

She smiled gently—almost sadly.

“You’ll understand soon.”

Then everything around us dissolved into darkness—like someone blowing out a candle. I woke up gasping for air.

Two dreams of the same girl.

Two nights in a row.

That had never happened before.

Night Three: The Warning

By the third night, I was actually afraid to sleep. I wasn’t sure why. It wasn’t like she was threatening me. But something about her felt… heavy.

I finally fell asleep around 4 AM.

This time, she was standing in my own living room.

“My time is running out,” she said softly. “You have to be ready.”

“For what?” I asked.

She stepped forward until she was right in front of me.

“You will meet me soon. But the moment you do… your life will change forever.”

Her hand touched my arm—cold as winter—and I jerked awake.

Sweating.

Shaking.

Heart pounding.

Three dreams.

Three messages.

One unknown girl.

And then it happened.

The Day I Met Her

Two days later, I was at a small roadside café. I usually never stopped there, but that day something pushed me to sit.

I ordered tea, leaned back, and tried to calm my thoughts.

Then I saw her.

The girl from my dreams.

Real.

Alive.

Standing directly across the street.

Same hair.

Same shawl.

Same expression.

I felt the air leave my lungs.

She looked at me.

Not surprised.

Not confused.

As if she had always known I would be there.

She crossed the road slowly and stopped right in front of me.

“Haider,” she said.

Exactly like in the dream.

Soft. Calm. Familiar.

I couldn’t speak. My voice refused to come out.

“My name is Mina,” she said. “And I’ve been trying to find you.”

My legs felt weak.

“How?” I finally whispered. “Why did I see you in my dreams?”

She sat down across from me and lowered her voice.

“Because I needed to warn you.”

My chest tightened.

A warning?

“What’s going to happen?” I asked.

She looked behind me—over my shoulder—and her expression changed for the first time. Fear. Real fear.

“He’s here,” she whispered.

“Who?”

She didn’t answer.

Because at that moment, the sound of screeching tires filled the street.

I turned just in time to see a speeding truck losing control, heading straight toward the café.

Everything slowed down.

I saw the waiter drop a tray.

I heard someone scream.

I felt wind slam against my face.

And then—

Darkness.

The Truth I Woke Up To

When I opened my eyes, I was in a hospital bed.

Bandaged. Bruised. Alive.

The doctor said the crash could have killed me instantly.

But someone had pushed me out of the way at the last second.

Someone who disappeared before anyone arrived.

Someone no one else saw.

Someone who matched the description I gave in terrified, trembling words.

Black hair.

Grey shawl.

Bare feet.

Mina.

The girl from my dreams.

But here is the detail that still chills me:

The doctor said the truck driver died instantly in the crash.

His name was Mina.

Not a girl.

A man.

A man who passed away three days before I started dreaming about the girl with the same name.

So, who was she?

A warning?

A spirit?

A vision?

A part of the man trying to save me?

My mind trying to protect me?

I don’t know.

But every night since then, before I sleep, I whisper:

“Thank you, Mina.”

Because someone… or something…

saved my life before I ever understood the meaning of destiny.
