The Devil’s Hotel

A Haunted Mystery in Mart Hor

By AlmafPublished 11 months ago 3 min read

Jack and Luna had been planning their dream trip for years. They had always wanted to visit Mart Hor, a place known for its stunning beaches, vibrant nightlife, and rich history. But every time they planned the trip, something always came up that forced them to cancel. Now, as a newly married couple, they finally had the perfect opportunity to visit for their honeymoon.

Excited for their adventure, they arrived in Mart Hor and checked into a cozy beachside hotel with a breathtaking view of the ocean. They spent their days exploring, engaging in thrilling activities, and their nights enjoying the lively parties that never seemed to end in Mart Hor.

One evening, as they were relaxing at a beach shack, a man approached them. He looked ordinary but had an unsettling aura about him. “You two are newlyweds, aren’t you?” he asked with a sly smile.

Jack hesitated before responding, “Yes, we are.”

The man nodded knowingly. “I have a special offer for you. Just around the corner, there's a five-star hotel—much better than this one. I can offer you a luxury stay at a fraction of the cost.”

Jack was intrigued but skeptical. “That sounds too good to be true. How is that possible?”

The man simply smiled and handed them a card. “I handle all the arrangements. If you’re interested, just visit tonight. You won’t regret it.”

Luna, excited at the thought of an even better stay, convinced Jack to check it out. They packed their belongings and made their way to the mysterious hotel, located in a secluded corner of Mart Hor.

As they arrived, they were in awe. The hotel was grand, far more luxurious than their previous one. Everything seemed perfect—the service was impeccable, the rooms were spotless, and the ambiance was serene. However, one strange thing caught Luna’s attention. Every staff member they encountered had an eerily similar face, almost identical to the man who had given them the card.

“Jack, don’t you think it’s weird that all the staff members look the same?” she whispered.

Jack laughed it off. “Maybe they’re just related or part of a family business. Don’t overthink it.”

Though uneasy, Luna decided to ignore her doubts. However, as the days passed, something felt off. Every time they tried to leave the hotel to explore Mart Hor, they were distracted by the staff offering them free services—massages, food, drinks, anything to keep them inside.

It took them a while to realize that they had been inside the hotel for days without stepping out. Every attempt to leave was subtly thwarted by the staff, making them feel trapped.

“This isn’t right, Jack,” Luna said one night. “We came here to explore, and we haven’t even left this place! It’s like they don’t want us to go.”

Jack, now aware of the strange situation, agreed. “We need to get out of here tonight.”

They packed their bags and made their way to the reception desk to check out.

“We’d like to check out,” Jack said firmly.

The receptionist, a man who looked exactly like the one who had invited them, frowned. “Check out? From where?”

“From this hotel,” Luna added.

The receptionist looked at them blankly. “Sir, there is no hotel here.”

Jack and Luna glanced at each other, confused. “What are you talking about? We’ve been staying here for days.”

The man simply shook his head. “This place has been abandoned for over twenty years.”

Jack turned to look around, and his heart nearly stopped. The pristine hotel was gone. The luxurious lobby was nothing more than a dilapidated ruin, covered in dust and cobwebs. The walls were cracked, the ceiling was caving in, and the once-glorious chandeliers were nothing but broken remnants hanging from rusted chains.

Terrified, Jack and Luna ran out of the building. They didn’t stop until they reached the same beach shack where they had first met the strange man. Panting, they approached the shack’s owner and recounted their horrifying experience.

“You went to that place?” the owner asked, his face turning pale. “That hotel has been abandoned for years. The owner, Peter, was a wealthy businessman from Russia who was murdered before it was completed. Since then, many construction workers went missing, and people who wandered too close have reported strange occurrences.”

Jack and Luna felt the blood drain from their faces.

“You’re lucky to be alive,” the owner continued. “Some people who go there never return.”

Jack and Luna decided to end their trip early. No matter how much they tried to rationalize what had happened, they knew they had experienced something beyond explanation. They left Mart Hor with more than just memories—they left with a chilling tale they would never forget.

Many travelers visit Mart Hor for adventure and excitement, but some unknowingly stumble into places they were never meant to be. Some places are better left unexplored, and some mysteries are best left unsolved.
