Sometimes. Content Warning.
Introduction I was just thinking about the benefits of actually talking to people about nothing in particular and how it can make you feel so much better. This may be just me, because, as you know on Vocal, I do love attention, and in a one-to-one conversation I have your complete attention. These are just some of the ways it benefits me, and maybe you too.

Beach Canaries
Introduction This is another story on Seven Days In that is getting a lot of attention, and I noticed most of my recent fiction has been quite dark, and I wanted something that wasn't dark so this is a placeholder that will not disturb anyone.

The Power of Confession: Healing and Transformation
In a world where vulnerability is often seen as a weakness, the act of confession stands out as a powerful tool for healing and transformation. Confession, in its essence, is the act of acknowledging one's faults, mistakes, or sins. While traditionally associated with religious practices, confession has a much broader application in our daily lives, offering a path to emotional, mental, and spiritual growth.

Lie To Me. Issue #5. Content Warning.
Working in the casino taught me many, many, things, I met many peers that taught me some important lessons I carry to this day. I made new friends, and lost those friends, I met a kindred spirit (we will call him Brandon). Brandon was kind, he was funny, he was lost. We almost instantly hit it off through our humor, we shared the same perspective on life, he had endured his own hardships somewhat similar to mine. We simply differed on one aspect; Brandon wanted to find someone to settle down with while I was wanting to be alone at least for the time being. We would call each other when we were too much in our own heads. For some reason we could just talk each other down like it was second nature. Brandon and I worked the same shifts, we took the same breaks, and we would hang outside of work. He got me into exercising properly, taught me that we can just laugh for no reason no harm in that, we taught each other resiliency.

Lie To Me Issue #4. Content Warning.
I was alone, my mom’s house was empty. My social media and my phone had been blowing up with people asking me if what I had done was true, some of them were telling me about how terrible I am, that I am less than a person. My employers asked if I was coming into work that day. I was simply drained. I guess I must have been more tired than I thought because my mother told me I had been asleep for almost two days, didn’t eat, barely went to the bathroom. To me, it all felt like one long day. I knew that I didn’t get all my bags out of my car before it was towed, I figured I would do it in the morning, my backpack was in the car that held my wallet, the last of my cash, my laptop, and some more personal items. I was back at step zero.

24 Hours. Content Warning.
Have you ever wanted to walk out of your life? Just sink into your follies like pajamas, never leaving your bed again? Throw the pillow over your face. Let it do its worst? Hide under the feathery folds of fabric. Stick yourself in between the sheets and the comforter, comforted, if only for a moment?

How I Overcame My Depression with Cooking and Prayer
I was trapped in a vicious cycle of depression, a silent enemy that robbed me of joy and hope. Every day was a struggle, and every night was a nightmare. I felt worthless, hopeless, and helpless. I tried to hide my pain behind a mask of smiles, but inside, I was falling apart.
