Friendship
Broken Hearts
There are times: when I need to focus; to get facts straight; and, to recount or recall an episode in my life. It is only then that I can put everything in perspective to tell a tale of "a funny, TRUE story involving one or more of" my "childhood friends."

Roasted Renters
When my best friend and I graduated from college, we were on the lookout for an apartment or home to rent. We made our specifications list, and eventually found a place in a great area with off street parking AND utilities included! The monthly rate was slightly higher than others we had viewed, but the price on the others did not make up for the utility costs we would have had to pay. We signed for our first year's lease thinking we were getting a deal, and we were. However, it took a certain incident for us to realize why utilities were included.

2 Friends and One Blind Mice
The night was off to a fun start but ended in a blur. I remember everything like it was just yesterday. It had all begun when I moved from Philadelphia, PA to Gainesville, FL at the age of 13. As a teen, I thought I’d be an outcast and socially deprived being far away from home but surprisingly I ended up snagging a few good friends. Not only that, I started to carry out the country bumpkin accent so I was fitting right in.

Two Apples🍎🍎High
It was the weekend; the primetime to blow off some steam. Me and my friends (including my cousin/closest friend) were dressed to the nines and ready for any adventures that may come our way. We hopped in the car and meandered our way to the local nightclub on base.

Dragons and Wolves
I remember the time that she came to my house. We were in grade 12, and she was telling me all about the project she was doing for a subject she was taking called Student-Directed Inquiry. Students would have an entire year to undertake research on a topic of their own choice in this class. The only condition was that the final product had to cover at least three different areas of the Australian Curriculum. To say that she was excited was an understatement! While we were sitting in the lounge room with my 13-year-old sister, India, she talked with great enthusiasm about dragons.

That Day at the Dehradun train station
When I was 14 years old I was living with my family in Dehradun, India. Each summer I would go to my grandparents’ house in Lucknow, which was more than 550 km away. My good friend Rajeev lived there as well. He was a neighbour’s son in my grandfather’s housing colony.

No.
I was always told I was such a “yes” girl. I was wild, I was free. I did things for me, or so I thought. What I didn’t realize was that while I told everyone else “yes,” I wasn’t appreciating or listening to myself. The pull between self and society is straining. If you don’t know how to balance yourself, it’ll pull you apart.
