The Truth about the Liar
Over a decade ago, I befriended a pathological liar. I didn't know it right away, of course. I was blinded by green flags and the excitement of someone who seemed to have a lot in common with me. We met at a concert after all! They dazzled me though, with shiny things and stories padded with excitement and wonder. It took me years to see how much was actually a facade she'd built up around the reality of herself. I finally blinked and opened my eyes to clear vision and the realization that my best friend was actually a master manipulator...a monster.

Could not really blame you if you turned and walked away, because with everything I feel inside I asking you to stay. I met them both on the side of the road when my tire went flat that early morning going in late to work. Of course always late no matter what time I got up always late, you know even though you say to yourself tomorrow I am going in early to work and make up for the time I been late.

One of those turned out to be an unexpected Vocal Top Story. Now I am back home, it is snowing and I am shattered. I can hardly think, let alone put together an idea and write.

That First Drink Would Be My Downfall
The Cellar in Northfield The cellar in my childhood was dark and damp, but for some reason we were encouraged to hang out down there. While I was growing up my mother routinely sent us into the cellar when tornado warnings came on the television. The cellar was the safest place to be during a tornado, she said. I think most of the time, she just wanted us to get a break from her children and watch her soaps in peace.

The Emotions of Leaving Home: Navigating the Journey of Relocation
