The Day I Lost My Mother
I remember every detail of this day as if it happened yesterday. The memory of the day my world fell apart will forever be etched into my mind. Thoughts about what could have been circling my mind as I finally deal with the trauma I drowned with alcohol and drugs for years.

From the towering mountains that pierced the heavens to the hidden depths of the oceans, every corner of this world held its own unique story.

Addiction
I guess I always did have a problem with alcohol. The first time I ever drank at a young age led to a blackout. So did most of the other times when I come to think about it. I suspect genetics, bad choices, and a little childhood trauma mixed with an addictive personality are to blame here, but who really knows? I guess it doesn’t really matter, I just have to deal with it now.

Late Bloomer-The letter Part 2
Right after the move I became very ill with a bad flu, went to the E.R. and got some cough syrup and was in bed for a week. I rarely checked my phone, which was the worst timing possible. I ended up finding out that you (my 14 year old) had been trying to reach me because you had been having sex with your boyfriend and you thought you were pregnant. Your Grandpa had found out and was livid, your grandma was out of town for a couple of days so you felt unsafe, and your grandpa was threatening to kick you out.

SHATTERED ASPIRATIONS OF YOUTH IN AFRICA
Once I was six years old, making promises worth billions of dollars, to Mama and Papa. Like it was an easy task, I said, "Mum, I will buy three big cars for you and daddy one day, a private jet, and build a house with a swimming pool for you. I will give you lots of money.
