Childhood
Just a Little Fever. Content Warning.
It started innocently enough – just a little fever. The kind that makes you think a good night's sleep and a few over-the-counter pills will fix everything. Little did I know that this seemingly insignificant fever would unravel into a series of events that would reshape my perspective on life.

Exposure
Have you ever met someone that challenges your mind to another level? A person that makes you think... "I haven't been living life?" I can remember growing up with little but desiring much. It was not until 12 years ago that I began to see more. I'm not just speaking of material things. But many times, we cannot grow beyond our surroundings. I recall my parents having their dreams for me, what they thought I should do with my life. Truthfully, it was a fight even when I conceded to do what they thought I should do with my life. I'm sure many can understand the influence our surroundings have on us. I recently learned that we gain 92% of our knowledge between the ages of 1-5. Research tells us that, what have we been taught during our early childhood years that we are now living out. It's okay to have the best and to be the best version of you. Your environment does not limit you to what and who you can become. Your trauma or life experiences are to be used to shape you to be more and to do more. Your experiences aren't just for you as an individual, it's for the next person you will help. I'm almost 40 years old and just beginning to tap into a greater level of me. Can I encourage you, that anything is possible, but you have to put the work in. You are worth it! You desire the best and so does your family. Please know my first step in my journey is knowing and loving yourself first. You will never find your true identity in another human being. Born to be great! Ride with it.

As Told By: I think My Dad Killed My Mom
Spring 1970 something, there was shift in the air. I came from the average two parent household, an older brother, average working dad and housekeeper mom. Some people always say that growing up in a two-parent household is beneficial to children but for me it was odd. There was a strange disconnect in the family. My dad was the manager of a car garage but there were no car repair shops within 2 miles of where we lived, and he always left late. My mother spent a lot of time with friends and came home and did chores. Until later on, we've never really seen our grandparents.

Annoying habits - if you don't stop doing that I'm going to scream! . Content Warning.
The rhythmic tapping echoed through the room, a relentless assault on my sanity. It was a sound so innocuous yet increasingly infuriating, like a water droplet persistently hitting the same spot. I sat at my desk, trying to focus on the spreadsheet in front of me, but the tapping invaded my concentration, demanding acknowledgment.

Too Black. Runner-Up in Identity Challenge. Top Story - November 2023.
I was pretty dark, even for a black kid, and the Texas sun I grew up playing in didn’t move me any closer to what the TV and the magazines said was beautiful. In elementary school, I was the constant subject of children’s jokes that began, “You’re so black that…”

Imaginations
Okay just to start this topic is gonna be weird because my imagination is really weird I've always been a creative kid but some of the things I imagine even make me go wait what the heck here are some of them have you ever heard the word impeached for anyone who doesn't know the word impeached means when a high-level government official like a president is charged it will sometimes mean that they are voted out of office but what I imagine when I hear is this walking into a room hey why is it so dark in here sorry Mr. Prez you're getting impeached BAM oh no beginning the ritual and then the president gets stuck inside a magical peach send him down with the rest of them okay on to the next one so I have these little creatures I made up called scrum bows and they look like this but me and my friends would always use our hands to represent the creatures and the way we did it was just using our index and middle fingers as the legs and they would walk around like this and there are two types of scrambles normal ones and sort ones the sword ones move really fast and slice people and here's what a fight between them would look like okay another thing I like to do is personify stuff like what if blank had feelings or could walk around and stuff I'm tired of being pushed aroud hey you got a text hey you got another text hey someone's calling you hey what if all these living things fought for their rights in a court of law like the dust particles would be like we demand that the oppression from the vacuum cleaners end another thing I like to imagine is what if the laws of physics were just that laws laws that could be broken but it was just illegal hey no defying gravity or what if two people were fighting in one person through the other ones so hard that he flew around the whole earth but then the guy harnesses the energy of going around the earth into an awesome kick kaboom what if you could draw something and it would just come to life and walk around with you and be your little friends so anyway that's just a tiny peek into my imagination I'm sure there will be a part two to this one because we are just scratching the surface thank you guys so much for read

The More I Lose, the More I Win. Content Warning.
This is not a typical essay on weight loss. I am not a typical person. Don’t expect recipes for darling cupcakes made of cauliflower and kale. I am stubborn, smart aleky, protective, immature, sincere, intelligent, intuitive, and sometimes a pain to be around. You should learn from my mistakes. Also understand I am NOT a physician and have NO medical background whatsoever. You should always check with your doctor before you change anything in your life regarding your health, like skydiving or maybe having that weird mole checked out while you’re there.

In Search of Reflection. Top Story - November 2023.
I don't think we ever discover who we are. Identity is a never-ending book that continues to write new chapters as we experience life, and your story only ends when the pen is set down. When your story reaches a close, only you can describe everything. But there's no one word to sum up the life you lived and who you were. Others can title your story as they please and leave reviews, but you wrote every word of your story. So, on that last page, who do you think you'll be in your story? Did you become this person, or did you let this character you wanted to be, define where the story was headed?
