My Haiku Issue. Top Story - February 2023.
Introduction When Vocal gave us the High-Ku challenge I was quite pleased, but a Japanese friend informed me that what I was writing was not actually haiku but in fact senryū. You can read about the two forms in the links below, but a haiku should include a preferably implied seasonal reference and a “cutting word” to redirect the poem. Vocal completely ignored this in the requirements and when I checked, I don't think one of the winning entries was a true haiku, though I may be wrong.

Introduction This is one of those odd posts that I do every now and then, where I want to tell you about something, but I can’t mention the thing that I want to tell you about because it may cause embarrassment for someone else if I mention what the thing is, and when I say embarrassment I meant the sort of embarrassment where someone has done something really pleasant for your, that has but a smile on your face and made you happier by raising your spirits, but they are just doing what they normally do and I certainly wouldn’t want to cause them any discomfort by naming them or something they are associated with or connected to.

The Lady losses her Man and her Job after the Ex Girlfriend of her man uses magic against her
The Lady is going through a tough time and feels broken and lost. Last year in April, she entered into a relationship with a man who was very open and honest about his past experiences. The couple was very much in love and everything seemed to be going smoothly until the lady found out in August that she was pregnant. Though the man was initially unhappy about the news, they were able to work through their issues and get back on track. Unfortunately, the lady miscarried within a few weeks, and the man became angry and distant, even blaming the lady for the loss.

The first time I saw Lily, she was wearing a bright yellow dress. She had a brown leather belt around her waist, which snatched the dress to her perfectly curved body. Her hair was dark brown, packed in a cute bun and fastened with a blue, flowery band. She had eyes like the sun: dazzling, clear and mesmerizing. When her lips parted in a smile, she looked unreal, like something out of a painting. On our first meeting, she said something to me, but I was too stunned to hear. Her voice was flawless, soothing to the ear and smooth as honey. I wondered if someone could be this perfect. I admired her at first; then, I despised her. I hated her for making me hate myself.
