Saving Grace
Sometimes we need those people in our lives that would save us from ourselves.

She grasped his hanging head, cold to the touch with warm tears flowing down his cheeks. Running her hand down his chin, neck then rested it gently on his lap. Pulling herself closer to catch a glimpse of his lost, daydreaming eyes. Lost in a place he wished he could be present in but to no avail he was stuck in a place that was unforgiven and troubling.
You Deserve love… your mind, your heart… I see it all, I love you for it all. I am not going anywhere, remember through the troubling seas ill be battling the waves by your side.
Motionless and numb to her touch, it seemed to be words of hers that went past him like wind through autumn trees. Not much shook him but inside, he broke down more, falling apart to her voice and beauty in her given love. A power she had, taring down fortified walls that were built high over the years of pain. She took her hand away from his lap and lifted his chin before laying it gently on his cheek to meet eye to eye in reassurance.
I am here. Your troubles are mine as mine are yours. Your weary heart I hurt for, I fear for, and most of all… I want to amend all broken pieces so that my heart can be complete when yours is…
Her worrisome eyes squinted in pain with his, on the verge of tears. Lost in trying to find a relation of constant inner torment that he had endured. She leaned in kissing his cheek lightly, still holding his cheek. Hoping one day in this life it would heal all that is felt dearly. His eyes closed as her soft pink lips touched his skin. A shiver rushed through his body of warmth and ease for the days of endless losing battles that he hoped would come to a halt. Red eyes of his opened slowly, tears lightly falling as he met her eyes. Both locked that gaze intimately for it was all that ever existed at that moment. Feeling nothing but peace fighting the battle of pain. Mixed emotions of what was to what is now, questions, and ultimatums of a life to be lived.
There is nothing to think about… you know it already. It was always with you.
She took his numb and willing hand, placing it on her chest where her heart rested.
There is only one thing to do… find that love for you. You can not love me if you do not have a love for you.
She removed his hand and leaned over to wrap her arms around his neck, hoping to wrap the pain in one and diminish all that seemed to trouble the man. Arms of his too weak to raise to give back the love she is giving. Instead, he perked his chest in a gasp and quickly let go. All the pain seemed to vanish in the love he is engulfed in. Gods saving grace saved the man from a self-lived life, which led him on the brink of a losing battle that he thought was only his.
His wife who passed years before hugged him one last time then faded away slowly along with the touch of her white skin, but the feeling of her love lingered with him internally. The man broke down pulling the double-barrel away from his mouth. Breaking down in tears. The shotgun hit the wooden floor along with the tears of the unloved man, which he thought he was. it was by God's grace he knew he was once and always will be loved. Only if he found the strength in him to find the same verdict. Her soft voice reminded the man as he leaned over with his hands on his head, tears flowing down his eyes uncontrollably.
Through the troubling seas, I will be battling the waves by your side.
