Human Monsters PART 3

One thing leads to another

By ADIR SEGALPublished 6 months ago 3 min read

Ravan shifted his throne once more and stated, "Fate has its ways; one monster leads to the demise of another. In any case, this woman... she, she harbored hatred when someone possessed something she lacked; she could not tolerate it. Anything trivial! She simply could not handle it; if her friend had a dress that was more beautiful than her own, she felt compelled to acquire her friend's dress or, alternatively, to insult her friend. Such were her reactions to everything!

"Attention always had to be directed towards her, a truly narcissistic woman... the situation was so dire that it resulted in the dismissal of a colleague because that colleague received more attention from the men around them than she did... a married woman... envious... due to a lack of attention from men who were not her husband... hard to believe, isn't it?!"

Well, after a very serious and fabricated argument, the less senior employee was dismissed... The girl, whose dismissal was instigated by our woman, lost everything, including her composure at an inappropriate time and place. However, I understand her; how could one not? She lost everything! The girl said the wrong thing to the wrong person, and the next day, her body was found lying on the bridge east of here, her throat slit from side to side, and her tongue protruding through the opening. A Colombian necktie.

"I wonder if they will now call this bridge 'The Tie Bridge'?" Rawan chuckled to himself and continued, "In any case, you see, even after causing the death of an innocent woman, our woman could not bear the thought that attention was directed towards someone else. After being invited to the girl's funeral, she realized that many people would honor the deceased with their presence, which infuriated her. The thought that she was not the center of the universe enraged her and led her to wear a tight, short black dress, an expensive fur coat, and a plethora of small gold jewelry to the funeral.

"Unfortunately, the woman never returned home after that funeral, and there will be no funeral held for her, right Nicholas?! You burned her body and everything she owned. But now, even Lawrence knows about your little secret, and perhaps you will not escape the punishment that awaits you...

"This is the work of the fourth monster on our list, the monster of envy... in all its green glory!"

The description of the woman's appearance was familiar to Lawrence for some reason, yet he remained silent as he was uncertain. Next to him sat Nicholas, who began to scream and cry loudly, making his distress known. He started to pray... "Please forgive me, Father, please forgive me for all my sins that I have committed until now and those I may still commit."

"Amen!" said Rawan, and then continued to rock his chair as he urged, "And now it is time to continue with the story of the fifth monster... There is a young girl named Rose, a truly charming girl beloved by everyone. She is also incredibly talented and successful for her age. Rose was known among her social circles as a very optimistic person with a high spirit, until she lost her brother... Since then, she began to sink into depression, her moods started to suffer from sudden changes. Her once high spirit was no longer elevated; she fell to the ground, and melancholy took hold of Rose's life.

"The loss was too great for her to bear, a conclusion she reached after no expert could help her overcome, even slightly, the loss she experienced.

"As her depression progressed, she began to lose interest in social activities, she started to lose interest in life itself. She reduced her eating, decreased her meetings with people, and diminished her overall daily activities. Rose would lock herself in her room for entire days, staring at the ceiling and doing nothing.

Diving deeper and deeper into the final spiral into which she was cast by cruel fate. "The mysterious disappearance of her mother did not aid poor Rosie..."

Lawrence interrupted Rowan and scolded Nicholas, "You... you are to blame... you are responsible for everything."
