Hey Mom. I have never told you this before, but I feel guilty for not telling you this before. I have never told you how much I love you. I thought it would be cliché to say those kinds of things as I am a teenager now. But I realized that no matter how old I get, I will be your son. The son who used to feel happy and safe when he was around you. When we were in the supermarket, I would grab chocolates from the store and hide them in the basket, thinking that you would never buy them, but after becoming a teenager, I noticed that you knew about it beforehand but never scolded me just because you wanted to see the naughty smile on my face.

Whenever I did something wrong, you would scold me, but now when I look back, the scolding came from your mouth to protect me from unwanted events in the future. I knew when you would cry in your room after scolding me. Whenever I came home late, you would defend me from my dad. That is how you expressed your love. I still remember the days when you would pick me up from school. I would say what all happened at the school.

You would listen fully while we walked back to our home. Those times, even miles looked like a few steps just because I was with you, mom. I also never told you that you were my role model. I wanted to become a teacher just because of you. The way you enjoyed teaching children impressed me, mom. I still remember the days where I felt ill. You will never leave my side. You used to stay up all night looking over them. I am sure that I will never be able to receive that kind of unconditional love from anybody in the world.

I remember the days when you used to get up early before me to wake me up and get ready for school. Even when you had a severe headache, you used to have a smile on your face when you sent me off to school. I was too naïve back then to understand your selfless love and sacrifices. I also need to mention that you have been my best friend with whom I can share everything. I still wonder how you tolerate angry shouting because I am not able to take it from my manager. I think that is because of the love you had for me. I wonder how people can tolerate everything for love. I still want to go back to the days where you chased me around the house to feed me.

You would even tell me different stories at night in order to make me sleep. I never knew that those days would pass so soon. I also need to confess that you have been my idol, which helped in implementing many knowledge-based skills in real life. You taught me that life lessons can be taught in an easy and friendly manner. Those life lessons have helped me in many parts of life. Life for you was never easy, but you still did everything to put a smile on everyone's face who was around you. I am so blessed to be born as your son. If it were not for you, I would never have got any idea about life in the real world.

You taught me how to get up and move on, even when we hit rock bottom. I still remember every single piece of advice you gave me. I may be a successful man in society today, but it all happened only because of you. I will never regret saying this anywhere when I am questioned about my success. Thank you, mom, for being with me whenever I needed you the most.
