Embarrassing kiss

Valuable lesson learned

By Jimisha SmithPublished 5 years ago 2 min read

I’m going to tell you a funny story. Oh! I’m embarrassed just by thinking about it. How do you laugh in a story? I’m glad this is a written text and not a verbal tale. Otherwise I wouldn’t survive. Here it is…

I can remember a time, sadly to say, as a freshman in high school. I hardly used public or school restrooms unless it was a dire emergency. However, on this particular day I felt the need to not use the restroom at all during school hours. There wasn’t a legitimate reason to why. I was very shy growing up, so even if I did build up enough courage to ask in front of everyone, just walking past everyone nearly made me want to faint.

I had other opportunities to use the restroom but I just didn’t. But this situation taught me a valuable lesson.

Anyway, I proceed to hold myself and I am now on the bus. Of course there’s this boy I had a crush on at the time. There’s always a boy. He sits next to me and we talk on the ride home. At this point I’m sweating and it’s hard for me to sit still. We finally exit the bus and it’s about a mile walk to our apartment complex from the main road. Well, as if I needed any help making things worse it begin to rain. Yep! Cats and dogs. I began to panic on the inside. But I stayed cool.

How was I able to play this off for so long? I have no idea. Well, we are speed walking and I’m saying that prayer we’ve all said plenty times “please let me make it home, please let me make it home”.

We get about half way and he decides to stop so I did as well. He then proceeds to lean in a kiss me. As soon as this happened I wet my pants. Right there. In the rain. In the middle of a kiss. I know, how embarrassing.

I stood there looking at myself with my mouth wide open. I didn’t know wether to apologize or to run so guess what I did? I ran. I ran all the way home. He just stood there in the rain. Baffled. I can not believe I’m telling this story. I swore that I would take this secret to the grave.

Luckily for me he never made fun of me for this. Also, luckily for me we moved after this so I never had to see him again. I’m glad I can laugh about it now.
