Confessions of a Former Alcoholic Part 13
What to Do to Prevent Old Addictions from Coming Back
These days, I've seen an increase of my previous habits, and I'm certain that my emotions have been to blame. I own my own company, but I seldom leave my home because of my prejudice toward other people.
Especially political news and negative news really affect people badly. If you look at today's world, people are migrating from their own countries to other countries. I am tired of hearing bad things in the news every day, and all I want is peace.
I mention my concept regarding children to alcoholics, and for some reason, they always respond, "My father was an alcoholic, but I don't drink alcohol."
People can never be trusted because of this. In any case, there are many individuals in the globe. The reason for this is because addicts will constantly tell you that their consumption is not inconsequential. I no longer respect the opinions of such individuals.
Individuals referred to as "internet trolls" often lead miserable lives in reality and focus solely on mocking others. This is especially true in the digital realm.
I simply wanted to remind you of a single memory from church: "The reason I quit drinking is because I want three daughters." I may have been raised as a soldier, but everyone at church was astonished.
I have serious issues with my family, and I'm weary of the lack of rules and regulations. Unfortunately, old habits never let you forget, but you must tell others who you really are.Everyone will die at some point, but I want to leave an excellent legacy for my three girls.
In moderation, I have no problem with alcohol, but too much of it is bad for you. If you experience trauma and surround yourself with foolish individuals, it could lead to antisocial behavior and compulsive drinking.
In recent times, I have conducted additional investigations on myself. I am a writer. The goal of the experiment is to test whether I can write good when inebriated or not. I can assure you that sober, I can provide superior results. Alcohol just drains my life energy.
Any alcoholic will tell you that drinking isn't damaging, but it is, and being sober is a beautiful thing.
Creating new habits and adapting to a new environment might be challenging at first. There should be no old friend from your previous environment in the new one.
As an example, instead of consuming content, I now use social media to share the content I create, and I spend relatively little time on it.I walk downstairs to the apartment building and touch the kitties while listening to the birds' pleasant noises.
It's difficult to interact with people since they're constantly trying to quarrel with you. Empty people constantly create noise, whereas clever ones avoid fights. This, I believe, is the law of life and the foundation of human relationships.
You cannot alter a person, but you can make them live in fear. An alcoholic, in particular, will encourage someone to consume more alcohol. I sometimes enjoy this about alcoholics. People who enjoy drinking alcohol usually do so for enjoyment, but over time, they become addicted to it and only feel emotions toward it.(You can upsetting alcoholics by chatting to them and encouraging them to consume more alcohol.)
I want to share with you another memory about my alcoholic father. After the earthquake, the only thing he said was, "Even during an earthquake, I wanted to drink alcohol."
That is why I cut off communication with my father after this recollection. He calls me sometimes, but I never respond, and even when he dies, I don't want to go to his tomb.
