Dear Miss Dolezal,

My beautiful black queen! How are you? I’ve noticed you’ve taken on a new look. You wear it well. With comparisons to Beyoncé, it is remarkable how you transformed yourself from media circus to established sex instructor. Bravo!

I mean you took on the role of being a black person. Notable for having bad credit, no job or prospects, high blood pressure, and low life expectancy, you still chose to be black. Go ahead, girl!

At forty-eight, you look twenty-six. Your ability to transition racially has proven to be a boon for your own sense of individualism. Some people tattoo themselves and pierce themselves to the point where they look like goblins and gargoyles. You chose to become a Foundational Black American. That’s progress! All you had to do was live your life as a happy little white girl and benefit from the privileges and perks of having lighter flesh.

Instead, you opted for the role of a Negro. Now, of course you’re not ink black but you don’t have to be. The Colored People diaspora has all sorts of shades and colors as you well know. With you having an OnlyFans account and being fired from the elementary school, you showed strength and courage nevertheless.

Your walk should be one of grace and impact in the lives of men and women who choose to be black. Your whole system of showing the world that it’s okay to be black is a boost to the culture at large. While some have tried to discard you in the dustbin of racial politics, it is clear you’re not backing down from this fight. Your unwavering ability to rush past ironies like quitting your post at the NAACP because you wanted to be black is just a testament to how far you can actually go.

I look to you. You're a lodestone for controversy, sure, but you’re also a proponent of greatness for the black race. As a fellow artist, I can say that it’s tough out here to monetize the projects in which we involve ourselves. For you to be a mom of two sons, one autistic, you should be lauded and applauded for your efforts.

This is the base with which I extend this missive. You are connected to the struggle and the maximization of opportunities to make it in America as a black woman. Your support of the black population in the United States brings about the notion that you are making justice for a people who have been brutalized and killed over the decades to bring inhumanity to define what it means to be black and human.

With a new look often comes a fresh mindset. You’re a beacon amidst a wasteland. In this stifling, torrid journey through life, we are born of the same kind of ideas of what it means truly to come to grips with the various challenges that arise. In our lives, we go through changes. You obviously fashioned yourself to be a black woman. The spine of this country, the black woman is a position that should not be taken lightly. And you have shown that you are serious.

After over a decade of being “exposed” as black, you have transitioned into a life where the Black Delegation would openly bring you in as one of their own in the racial draft. If you ever needed clarification on how to best present yourself, go with a pimp. Yes, the gentleman of leisure will guide you through the travails and snares.

But it seems like you’re doing it all on your own.
