A Dirty Ol Man

As you know this isn’t my dirty ol man. I can’t put his photo here or say he is old either as he won’t approve of my writing this to publish! Then he says he is not a dirty ol man. I said, the dirty part or the old man part. He just shakes his head.

I told him I had to have something to write about or it would be about him. We were just talking about one of my nicknames for him is “one track”. Why ever would that be?

I took a graduate class once toward a doctorate in educational policy and administration. In one of the sessions, being part of a cohort, the class decided to keep track of how often what the professor talked about triggered thinking about sex.

I thought it would be less as after all, many of the students in the cohort were middle-aged and older. They were supposed to tap when something he said triggered sex thoughts in an individual. The females were assigned a male and with a pencil tap from the guy the female would mark the paper.

The professor didn’t pick up on what we were doing until the end of the class when we came clean about the research we were doing in his class. We weren’t sure how he would take this, but he just laughed. He was kind of a strait-laced guy, so it was a surprise but a good surprise.

When we reviewed the research at the professors' prompting, we discovered that we had many dirty ol men in the group. I was not keeping track; however, I was trying to see if anything would trigger thoughts of sex for me.

I couldn’t even say any until I heard a tap and then I thought perhaps I knew what the tap was about. We did the research as someone thought there would be nothing fun or funny about this particular professor's lecture.

My mind is not the same as the guys in that class. My cohort members. No wonder I have memories of that cohort. They were fun to spend time with. They kept me laughing. There were a few women who could point out a few comments that the guys didn’t get either.

As I aged, I noticed that some old women started to talk nasty. Then I noticed that it was the women with no regular partner. One friend confirmed that not having a regular partner can lead to those conversations.

So that wrecked my theory that there were only dirty ol men and no such thing as a dirty ol woman. I thought the closest women get to that was the picture above.

My husband was told that he has to die first. I do not want to do any dating. Imagine the couple in the picture above on a date at the carnival. I think that is why so many older women are single. Like me, they are not interested in dating any dirty ol man.

And some of the guys probably aren’t interested in dating any dirty ol woman. Then again, maybe they are. I’m not sure how many women are out there but I am sure there are a few. I’ve listened to some of their nastiness. Some that married once and date only occasionally.

I really am okay being married to my man. There is still an interest in me that he has and other than looking once in a while, he never strays. I got rid of my jealousy in my first marriage which makes it a good thing for both of us. I trust him and he can trust me. I will keep my dirty ol man.
