5 TERRIFYING visions of HELL

That people saw when they almost died

By kelvinPublished 2 years ago β€’ 3 min read

The mystery of what comes after death has intrigued scientists, philosophers, and religious individuals, yet remains elusive. The only way to truly understand lies in experiencing death, an event from which one cannot return. Near-death experiences (NDEs) offer stories from those who have had close calls with death. While some describe a bright light and angelic welcome, others recount dark visions of torment and evil, resembling hell. In this exploration, we delve into five unsettling visions of hell from near-death experiences.

The Pit of Despair and Isolation:

Matthew Boss Ford, after surviving two gunshot wounds, fell into a coma for 27 days. During this time, he had a terrifying vision of hell. In his NDE, Ford found himself shackled, suspended above a pit of volcanic materials. Strange creatures surrounded the pit, and he heard tortured screams, but there was a profound sense of isolation. Demons visited him, repeatedly cutting flesh from his bones, only for it to regenerate for further torment. A giant hand eventually rescued him, sparing him from eternal anguish.

Not So Pearly Gates:

Contrary to the typical near-death experience narrative of bright lights and pearly gates, some individuals describe a hellish version of welcoming gates. As they approach, the heat intensifies, causing their skin to burn. The gates open to reveal a terrifying underworld, with ominous threats and a red carpet leading to eternal suffering.

The Infernal Invitation:

Howard Storm, a devout atheist, faced a near-death experience after a perforated stomach. Waking up as a ghost in a hospital, he encountered figures inviting him to join them through a door. However, beyond the door, he entered a fog-filled realm where the once-friendly figures turned sinister, violently attacking him. In his panicked state, Storm began praying, invoking some form of divine intervention that pulled him back to reality.

Worse Than War:

George Ritchie's story, widely circulated in the 1978 book "Return from Tomorrow," details his near-death experience during World War II. After being pronounced dead due to pneumonia, Ritchie claimed to have wandered an alternate dimension. Scenes of people struggling with vices unfolded, leading to more terrifying scenarios. Ritchie described a wasteland with gigantic figures locked in violent feuds, engaging in perverse acts beyond imagination.

Total Recall:

Angie Fenimore, who attempted suicide in 1991, had a life review before finding herself surrounded by an eternal darkness. She heard voices identifying themselves as suicides and could communicate with them using her mind. Later, she entered a field in hell filled with lost souls consumed by misery, unable to connect with each other.

These near-death experiences offer glimpses into diverse interpretations of hell. Whether these visions hold truth remains uncertain, as they are subjective and vary among individuals. Belief in an afterlife, including the concept of hell, is subjective and often tied to personal, cultural, or religious perspectives. Also, it's essential to note that these accounts are based on personal experiences and beliefs, and there is no scientific evidence to support or refute the existence of an afterlife.

The mystery of what happens after death has intrigued humanity for centuries, drawing the attention of scientists, philosophers, and religious thinkers. While the experiences described in near-death experiences vary widely, they often include encounters with a bright light, heavenly figures, or, in some cases, dark and terrifying visions resembling hell. Matthew Boss Ford's near-death experience involved a nightmarish scenario of being suspended above a pit filled with volcanic materials, surrounded by creatures, and experiencing isolation. He was spared from this torment by a giant hand that rescued him.

Contrary to the typical portrayal of bright lights and pearly gates in near-death experiences, some individuals describe a hellish version of welcoming gates. The heat intensifies as they approach, and the gates open to reveal an ominous underworld with threats and a red carpet leading to eternal suffering.
