30s, single, and loving it: How I learned to stop worrying and embrace the solo life (with pizza and video games)"

It's never too bad for a shrimp out here!

Being single in your 30s as a man can be a weird and wonderful experience. Sure, you might get the occasional pitying look from your married friends, but being unattached has its perks. Here are some of my hilarious and ridiculous experiences of being single and happy in my 30s.

The joys of online dating

Online dating can be a minefield, but it’s also a source of endless amusement. I’ve had women use pictures from their high school prom as their profile pictures, women who list their job as “professional napper,” and women who think it’s appropriate to send unsolicited pictures of their pets. But for every weirdo, there’s a gem waiting to be discovered. Just remember to swipe left on anyone who lists “long walks on the beach” as their favorite activity.

Learning to cook (sort of)

Being single means that I’m responsible for feeding myself, which has been an adventure in and of itself. I’ve burned more frozen pizzas than I care to admit and my attempts at cooking steak usually end with a smoke alarm going off. But I’ve also discovered the joy of mastering a new recipe and the satisfaction of creating a delicious meal from scratch. Plus, if all else fails, there’s always delivery.

Surrounding yourself with a strong support system

Being single in your 30s can be lonely at times, but it doesn’t have to be. Surround yourself with a strong support system of friends and family who lift you up and make you laugh. Whether it’s a weekly happy hour, a game night, or just a group text filled with silly memes, having a support system can make all the difference.

Appreciating alone time

As a single man in my 30s, I’ve learned to appreciate alone time. I can spend hours playing video games, binge-watching TV shows, or just reading a good book. I don’t have to worry about anyone judging me for my choice of entertainment or interrupting my solo dance parties.

Enjoying a night out with the boys

Just because I’m single doesn’t mean I’m lonely. I’ve got a great group of friends who are always down for a night out. Whether it’s hitting up a sports bar, playing pool, or just hanging out and cracking jokes, spending time with my buddies is always a good time.

Being spontaneous

One of the best things about being single is the freedom to be spontaneous. Want to take a last-minute road trip? Sure, why not! Feel like going out for drinks on a Tuesday night? No problem! Being unattached means that I don’t have to worry about anyone else’s schedule or preferences, which is a liberating feeling.

Embracing my inner child

Being single in my 30s means that I don’t have to worry about being a “grown-up” all the time. I can still enjoy the things that made me happy as a kid, like playing video games, building forts, and eating junk food. Plus, if I ever do decide to settle down and have kids, I’ll be well-prepared for all the fun stuff.

Living life on my own terms

Perhaps the best thing about being single in my 30s is the ability to live life on my own terms. I don’t have to compromise on my goals or dreams, and I can pursue my passions without worrying about how they’ll impact anyone else. Whether it’s starting a business, traveling the world, or just taking a day off to recharge, being single means that I’m in control of my own destiny.

In conclusion, being single in your 30s as a man can be a hilarious and freeing experience. By embracing the joys of online dating, appreciating alone time, and living life on your own terms, you can make the most of your unattached status. Just remember to always swipe left on anyone who lists “long walks on the beach” as their favorite activity.
