Everything you need to know about the English professional league; who's on top, who's been traded, and what teams are dropping the ball.
A Walk in St James' Park
Thank the heavens Trippier got rinsed for Kane's goal. Southampton's valiance on Friday evening laid something bare before a ball on Sunday had even been kicked; Tottenham are the worst coached team in the league. Spurs would surely be floundering somewhere in mid-table, as Chelsea are now, were it not for the exceptional efforts of Harry Kane. If he does not leave this Summer, I will have to conclude that he has had all ambition and belief beaten out of him by the club.

Referees - Football's Pantomime Villains
It's a cold Tuesday night in Leeds and visitors Liverpool are being held by the home team. Suddenly, the ball ricochets off Trent Alexander-Arnold and Cody Gakpo is able to slot home the opening goal amid protests from the Leeds defence. Despite a VAR check for handball, the goal is allowed to stand and is the first of 6 for a clinical Liverpool side.

The Downfall of Dele Alli
Once considered the future of English football to now not even making the squad list on matchdays for Besiktas, Dele Alli has had quite a downfall and perhaps the most tragic one too. In the January transfer window of 2015 from Mk Dons for a fee of around 5 million, he was then sent back to the League 1 club for the rest of the season. The purchase of Dele raised some questions from Tottenham fans as they were not sure if could perform at the highest level and be the point of difference for the North London club. He returned from loan and became a first-team regular from 2015-16. With Mauricio Pochettino in charge of the club, Alli was immense and the Premier League by storm. In his first season at the club, he racked up 10 goals and nine assists from 33 Premier League matches which is a great feat for any Player coming from league one. That season was just the start of their rise as in the next season his goal-scoring tally was almost double from the Pervious season as scored 18 goals and got 7 assists in 37 matches. For two consecutive years, Dele won the EFL Young Player of the Year award and joined the likes of Waney Rooney, Ryan Giggs, and Robbie Fowler to have won the award twice. Dele's Performances remained consistent for the next few years but injuries limited his game. Dele stayed an important part of the Tottenham team which reached the UEFA champions league final but like their past performance, they were unable to go over the line to win the trophy. The champions league final defeat had a clear impact on the clubs' performances as they struggled at the start of the next season and sacked Pochettino, which impacted Dele the most. The club then hired Jose Mourinho a serial winner. That season under Mourinho Dele's performance was under par and he looked like a shadow of his former self. Mourinho, however, warned Dele that if he wouldn't fulfill his potential now then one day it'll be too late, and he'll regret it. But ever since the departure of Pochettino, Alli’s career had slumped at an astonishing and alarming rate. Everton and their new manager seeing Dele's situation at Tottenham took a risk in hope of getting the old Dele back but yet again he underperformed making just 13 league appearances and failing to score or assist during that time. Everton then loaned their midfielder to Besiktas, hopeful a period abroad would see him return to the peak of his powers. But they were wrong as Dele hit the lowest point of his career in Turkey. Dele scored a total of three times in 15 games during his time in Turkey, and his manager claimed that he isn't up for the cause. His time at the club seemed to be over as an injury has ruled him out and looks half out of the club with his loan also ending Everton doesn't look like it to take him back into their first team and he will face the dilemma of finding a new club in summer. Only time will tell what the future holds for him, but one thing is clear: the player that sparked upon moving to Tottenham over eight years ago is gone.

Leicester's 2015-16 Squad
Once upon a time, in a land far, far away, there was a football team called Leicester City. They were a group of misfits, has-beens, and never-will-bes who had been written off by everyone in the football world. Their style of play was refreshing, a breath of fresh air in a league that had become dominated by big-money signings and superstars. Leicester City played with passion and heart, with a team ethic that made them a joy to watch.
