Their last meeting with the German giants had ended 8-2 and there were some that were optimistic that Ronald Koeman and his side could turn things around. The optimism soon turned to despair. A fortunate goal from Thomas Müller in the first half, was followed up by two goals from Robert Lewandowski, as Bayern Munich dominated a one-sided affair. The revenge that Barcelona fans had been hoping for would not come to fruition, if anything this result evoked more questions.

I know that some of you reading this right now might be thinking that fantasy football doesn’t qualify as a fantasy world but I beg to differ.

That was the song that made its way to the Molineux Stadium and could be heard before, during and after Manchester United’s 1-0 away victory to Wolverhampton Wanderers. Not since the end of the 2008/09 season could Manchester United fans rejoice at the fact that Cristiano Ronaldo would be wearing a shirt with their beloved badge on it. While the outpouring of joy from the public was something to behold among fans of the red devils and those that admire him; what was profound to see was the reaction on social media, the stock market and the club shops.
