FAN REPRESENTATION IN FOOTBALL/OR THE LIE IT IS
When Brazilian club Santa Cruz lost 4–1 to Gremio in 2012 to get relegated, there was only one fan in the stadium, watching over his club's demise with a dismayed visage. Fast forward to December 2020, when the club qualified for Copa Do Brasil and won the state FGF Cup, their first ever trophy, it was that fan lifting the trophy, as the President of the club.

Soccer Gods Have Mercy!!
I grew up in India for a few years before moving to Canada in 1995. I remember from my years in India that people love the sport of soccer. It is quite popular but less popular than the national pastime cricket. India has never qualified for a FIFA World Cup Championship yet. My prayer to the soccer gods is “Soccer Gods Have Mercy!! India should be able to qualify for the World Cup at least once in the coming few years!!”

Football fortresses: The Stanks
Berwick-upon-Tweed is border territory. As English and Scottish forces battled over this land, the town changed hands 13 times. Today, it’s English, but with a strong Scottish accent: the senior football teams in town compete in competitions north of the border, and in the local dialect its not unusual to hear of a Scottish ‘heed’ meeting a Northumbrian ‘burl’.

USA vs Canada
Going into Saturday’s matchup both teams knew that the outcome would be a statement to all of the progress one nation or the other has made going into the final stages of World Cup Qualifying. The choice to play such a highly important match at 4pm local time in Kansas City is questionable at best. Especially considering the temperature was predicted by to be 85F and humid. Some like myself might of thought it would be better to push it back till 7pm when the heat would play less of a factor but that’s just the way of things.

The Ball With Wiings
When RB Leipzig knocked Manchester United out in the Champions League group stages last season, a particular Devil friend of mine went on a tangent and finally stopped at how embarrassing it is to be thrown out by a team that carries the name of a freaking energy drink and has no history whatsoever!

Mass Clean Up Under Way After Euro 2020 Final
"You're not an England fan and we don't want you." Those are the words from England captain Harry Kane after members of the England football team were subjected to racist abuse on social media following the team's defeat at the hands of Italy in the Euro 2020 final. Both sides played out 1-1 draw in normal time with Luke Shaw scoring for England in the early stages of the game. This was however cancelled out when Italy equalised in the second half with a goal from Bonucci, so the match had to go to extra time and eventually penalties.
