I was in Grade 1, very small and shy girl who joined the class mid-way through the year. I had never participated in any school games nor heard the sound of a starter pistol before. The school's sports carnival week began and all the school kids made their way down to the playing field for track events to begin. My class was signaled out for a short distance race so our class teacher got everyone of us onto the starting line. "Ready ... get set,"... "BANG!" .... I got a shock of my life and almost ran away to take cover! Supporters including my teacher screamed and told me to run towards the finishing line with the rest. By the time I realized what had happened, it was too late. Everyone was already running so I followed. I came last and cried bitterly on my dad's lap. Hehehe. Such is life.
Anyway, yesterday this friendly light from the nature reminded me to brace myself this time from the blast. It didn't last long, just 3 seconds and then BOOM! I was ready. This time. I was ready. Not to be confused, but ready to know what to expect next.
Life has an amazing way of preparing us. From studying for examinations to preparing us for our job interviews. When we know and get ready, we won't run away to take cover but handle it as it comes. Even if we don't make it through, there's always a loved ones lap where we can cry on.

If we know what's coming, we wouldn't need to run and rake cover. This was so inspirational. Sending you lots of love and hugs ❤️
