Chapter 3: Letting Go
Dendy wasn’t ready to give up.
“Lita, please. Don’t end this,” he begged. “I’ll talk to your parents. I’ll fix this.”
But Lita knew better. Some things couldn’t be fixed with words.
Sessy hated her now. Her parents blamed her for everything. Even if Dendy spoke up—it wouldn’t change how things felt.
With a broken heart, Lita ended it.
“I’m sorry,” she whispered. “This isn’t about love anymore. It’s about peace.”
Dendy’s voice broke as he cried. The strongest person she knew—crumbling.
She turned away before her own tears could fall.
The days dragged on. Sessy wouldn’t even look at her. Her parents stopped asking how she was. The house used to feel warm. Now it just felt… empty.
But Lita kept going. She poured herself into her studies. Graduation came faster than she expected.
and with it—a job offer in another city.
When the day came to leave, no one hugged her goodbye. Her parents just nodded. Sessy stayed in her room.
At the station, her phone buzzed. A message from Dendy.
“I hope you find your happiness, Lita. I’ll wait, no matter how long it takes.”
Tears streamed down her cheeks as she boarded the train. She didn’t look back.
She didn’t need to.
The future was waiting.
