Suddenly, footsteps sounded in the hallway.
By the sound of it they were just around the corner in front of me.
But there was no projection of anyone there.
My throat felt as if it was clogged with something, astringent and raw.
One after another the footsteps sounded as if many people were walking in a hurry.
Whispers rang in my ears.
There seemed to be a lot of people talking.
But there was clearly no one around me.
「Lucy.」
「Lucy.」
Someone kept calling out my name.
A light, unfamiliar voice.
I clenched my teeth.
【If you hear someone calling your name in the hallway, don't respond and don't turn around】.
The voice was coming from behind me.
But I knew very well that my house was at the end of the hallway.
In other words, there was a wall behind me.
There was no way anyone could be there.
