The Painter of Souls

In a small European town, an aspiring artist, Clara, discovers an old studio with a single unfinished painting. She starts painting, but the artwork seems to capture not just appearances, but the deepest secrets of its subjects.

Clara’s paintings gain fame, but she notices disturbing side effects: people she paints become obsessed with her, or fall ill, or experience sudden misfortune. She realizes that the original painter had made a pact to trap the souls of those he painted.

The climax occurs when Clara is commissioned to paint a powerful local politician. She must choose between finishing the painting, ensuring her fame but damning the subject’s soul, or destroying her career to save him, confronting the painter’s lingering curse.
