The Man Who Sold His Shadow Twice
He didn’t learn the first time.
By GoldenSpeechPublished 3 months ago • 1 min read

In Berlin, 1923, a desperate painter named Otto sold his shadow to a stranger for gold. Without it, fame came fast — his portraits glowed with unnatural light. But soon, people avoided him. He cast no shadow, and no soul trusts a man untouched by darkness.
Years later, penniless again, Otto begged for it back. The stranger agreed — for a price. Otto had to paint the man’s portrait from memory.
He did. The painting smiled — and stepped out of the frame.
By morning, Otto was gone. But every mirror in his studio reflected him — and his shadow.
