The Man Who Sold His Death

He auctioned the end of his life — and the highest bidder never paid.

By GoldenSpeechPublished 2 months ago 1 min read

A Parisian philosopher claimed he could sell his death. Whoever bought it would live forever, as long as he lived.

A banker purchased it for a fortune. Weeks later, the philosopher shot himself — and the banker vanished in the same instant.

The gun was found years later in a pawnshop, with a note attached:

“Still loaded. Still waiting.”
