The Grapes Are Sour:————-
Once upon a time, there lived a hungry fox in a small village near a big forest. The fox was always looking for food because he was often very hungry. One hot summer afternoon, the fox was walking through the forest. The sun was shining brightly, and the fox was tired and thirsty. He had not eaten anything since morning, and his stomach was empty. He wanted to find something to eat quickly.
As the fox walked deeper into the forest, he saw a beautiful grapevine. The grapevine was covered with many ripe grapes. The grapes were purple, round, and shiny. They looked very fresh and delicious. The fox’s mouth watered as he looked at the grapes. He thought, “If I can eat these grapes, I will not be hungry anymore.”
The grapes were hanging high up on the vine. The branches were strong and tall, and the grapes were out of the fox’s reach. The fox decided to try to get the grapes. First, he jumped once to grab the grapes. But he missed. Then, he jumped again and again, trying his best to reach the grapes. The fox jumped as high as he could, but the grapes were still too high.
After many tries, the fox felt tired and sad. He sat under the grapevine and looked at the grapes. They looked very delicious, and the fox wanted to eat them very much. But no matter how hard he tried, he could not get the grapes. The fox’s heart felt heavy because he was hungry, but the grapes were too high for him.
Finally, the fox said to himself, “Those grapes are sour. I do not want to eat them.” He said this because he did not want to feel bad about failing to get the grapes. The fox stood up and started walking away from the grapevine. He was still hungry, but he tried to feel better by telling himself the grapes were not good.
The fox told other animals in the forest that the grapes were sour and not good to eat. The other animals listened to the fox, but they did not believe him. They knew the fox really wanted the grapes, but he could not reach them. The animals understood that the fox said the grapes were sour because he was angry and disappointed.
This story teaches an important lesson. Sometimes, when people cannot get what they want, they say bad things about it. They do this because they feel hurt or embarrassed. Instead of admitting failure, they try to hide it by saying the thing is not good. But it is better to be honest and accept failure.
The fox’s story shows us that it is okay to fail sometimes. We should not pretend or lie to save our pride. Instead, we should try our best and keep working hard. If we cannot reach something today, we can try again tomorrow. Failure is part of life, and it helps us learn and grow.
If we want something, we must be patient and never give up. We should face challenges with courage and honesty. The story of the fox and the grapes reminds us to be honest with ourselves and others. We should respect our efforts, even if we do not succeed at first.
So, the next time you try something and fail, remember the fox’s story. Don’t make excuses like “the grapes are sour.” Instead, accept the result, learn from it, and try again with a better plan. Success often comes after many failures, and honesty always leads to true growth.
