The Garden That Grew in Winter
Its flowers bloomed only over graves.

In northern France, an entire forest of roses sprouted one January night, covering a war cemetery. The flowers had no roots and grew straight from stone.
Botanists discovered the petals contained traces of DNA from soldiers buried beneath.
When night fell, the wind carried whispers — not cries, but songs. The scent drove people to tears.
The roses wilted by spring, leaving behind thorns shaped like letters. Together, they spelled:
“We have not stopped growing.”
