The Deep of Night

Cameron was never really much into going out on the weekend, she was more of a, stay at home and watch a movie then make dinner type of person. Even then she had some how found herself getting ready to go to a party with her college roomate Sandra. Sandra was very out going and she and Cameron had been roomates in their little on campus apartment for three months. They got along well enough. Cameron would usually join Sandra for lunch in the cafeteria and they would sometimes walk to class together, maybe go grab a coffee on the weekend. But Sandra never considered Cameron as a friend she thought of them more as aquantinces that happened to live together. Cameron on the other hand didn't go out much so she considered Sandra a close friend in the college world. Sandra had invited Cameron to a party out at a friends cabin where they had a hot tub and privacy to do whatever they want. Cameron was nervous to go to a party, she hadn't really been to one before. Sandra was hoping that Cameron might make some new friends so maybe she could get out more with other people and not always ask to hang out with her, She thought it was annoying.

So, here they are getting ready to go out. Cameron kept asking Sandra what she should wear.

"It's just a casual party Cam, just wear a sweater and some jeans or something. Oh, and don't forget your swimsuit if you wanna use the hot tub." yelled Sandra from the bathroom.

"Okay, are you sure they even want me to come? I mean the only person I will know there is you. I don't know I am just nervous I guess, how long did you say the drive there is?" said Cam from her bedroom.

"It's like an hour, I think, we need to get going pretty soon. Also, Cam these people won't care that you come, most of them probably don't know each other either it's Ben's party he always invites everyone around to his parties even if he doesn't know 'em. I don't even know him very well but Kat and Leisl are going I even think Timmy is gonna be there. Isn't he in your Comp class?"

"Oh yeah I think so, I have never really talked to him before though." replied Cam, who at this point is fully dressed and is looking frantically for her swimsuit.

"Well, this would be a good opportunity to talk to him. He's single ya know!" said Sandra enthusiastically.

The two got into the car after grabbing their swim suits and finishing up on their makeup. The roads were covered in a light snow and the sky was very dark. The pine trees all around glittered in the headlights from the reflection of the snow upon them. The two girls listened to some random pop music on Sandra's playlist and didn't really talk all the way to Ben's party. When they pulled into the driveway of the cabin there were only two other cars there and Cameron felt a little better that most people weren't at the party yet.

Sandra got out of the car first followed closely by Cameron, the driveway was icy and the two struggled up the little incline to the door. Ben opened the door and took their coats.

"Hey guys, welcome to my humble abode! please take off your shoes here and I'll put your coats the bedroom over here for ya. Um... feel free to sit where ever, the hot tub is upstairs on the deck and there are towels sitting next to the door there. Beer and vodka is in the fridge, feel free to have whatever in there. There's snacks on the counter and the bathroom is on left down the hallway over there. Tim, Joey and Kat are out back smoking and Leisl and Charlie are in the kitchen, we have some more people on the way let me or Joey know if you need anything." Said Ben happily.

"Thanks Ben, oh by the way this is Cameron she is my roomate at school." said Sandra to Ben, gesturing towards Cameron.

"Oh hey nice to meet ya Cameron!" exclaimed Ben as he grabbed Cameron's hand and shook it firmly " I'm Ben, as you probably knew, I am in Sandra's Trig class. She is a HUDGE help to me in that class, man I am so bad at math." He laughed, "Anyway guys I'm gonna go out back with Joey, see ya in a bit. We might play twister later." Ben winked and walked to the back door.

"He's fun." Said Cameron to Sandra.

"Yeah, he's a pretty cool guy. Him and Joey are dating though so I haven't really talked to him much outside of Trig. Anyway, Imma go get something to drink from the kitchen. Wanna come with?"

"Yeah sure." said Cameron as they walked over to the kitchen. Sandra opened the fridge and grabbed a beer. Cameron took out the vodka and some orange juice out and grabbed a glass from the counter.

"Hey Leisl! How ya doin hon?" said Sandra sweetly to Lesil.

"Oh hey Sandy! So glad you made it, this is Charlie she is a friend of mine who's here for the weekend." said Lesil to Sandra.

"Nice to meet ya Charlie, I have heard sooo much about you from Leisl here." said Sandra wrapping her arm around Lesil's shoulder. "I heard you're majoring in grapic design, me too!"

"Cool, yeah. nice to meet you too." said Charlie uninterested as she took a drink of her beer. "who's that?" she said quietly pointing her beer to Cameron.

"Oh, that's just Cam. She is my roomate." said Sandra annoyed that Charlie seemed more interested in Cameron than her. "she doesn't really have a lot of friends so I figured I'd bring her here." Sandra whispered.

"Hey Cam!" yelled Charlie from across the kitchen. "Why don't you come join us when your done making your drink."

Startled, Cameron looked up and saw Charlie. She was in awe for a moment she hadn't looked at her until now, her short black hair and her shining blue eyes looking into her own. She was beautiful, glowing in the pale light of the kitchen, her tank top showing her shoulders and her soft pale skin of her neck and chest. "Uh," she swallowed hard,"yeah, yeah I'll be over in a minute." she was so caught off guard that she spilled some orange juice on the counter." oh, shit sorry." she muttered under her breath. Sandra giggled a bit and looked over to Charlie who started making her way over to help Cameron clean up the mess.

"Hey, don't worry about it" Charlie laughed "everyone spills sometimes lemme help you with that." Charlie grabbed some paper towels and started wiping up the mess.

"are, are you sure, I mean I made the mess I got it." Cameron went to grab some more paper towels and wiped up the rest of the mess.

"It's no problem really" said Charlie looking at Cameron who was to embarrassed to look up at her. "Hey really, it's alright. Don't be embarrassed. Wanna go up to the hot tub with me, I know Liesl and Sandra are probably just gonna catch up and drink down here."

"Uh, yeah. Sure, let's go." Said Cameron, very nervous she was going to be alone with this beautiful girl in the hot tub. She grabbed her drink and followed Charlie.

"Hey Leisl, Cam and I are gonna go up to the hot tub. You two have fun down here." Charlie said as her and Cameron started towards the stairs.

"Alright see ya in a bit." replied Lesil.
