In 2019, a couple in Pennsylvania woke up to find $120,000 mysteriously deposited in their bank account.
They did what anyone in denial might do: they spent it. Fast.
Trucks, cars, wedding rings, debts — gone in two weeks.
Then the bank realized it was an error and demanded it back.
They couldn’t repay it. So they were charged with theft of mislaid property.
The husband’s defense?
“I thought it was a blessing.”
Technically, it was — just not for him.
