The Bride Made of Smoke
She promised to return after the fire — and she did.

During the great theater blaze of 1883, only one performer was never found: a dancer named Celeste. They said she was last seen running through the flames in her wedding gown, veil turning to ash.
A century later, restorers reopened the theater. In the rafters, they found charred fabric folded neatly — a veil, untouched by time. That night, security cameras caught a faint silhouette twirling in the dark.
When the footage was played back, a message appeared in the smoke drifting across the stage:
“Encore.”
They say if you watch a show there alone, the curtain moves without wind — and you’ll smell roses and burning silk.
