The Bag - The Chapters
Listed in order, the chapters of The Bag, a mini novella created every other day in 366 words
I am writing every day in 2024 and I am enjoying it immensely. However, in a bid to extend myself, I wanted to try and engage in a little bit of audience participation with an idea that ended on a cliffhanger. This was The Bag, the first instalment as listed below. From here, I have written subsequent episodes, the story evolving as I've been writing them with no real plan as to where it was going to head but each time, I absorb readers' suggestions from the comments and then see where it takes me.
I will add an episode to this thread every time one is published and let's see how far this will go. I hope you enjoy reading them.

Fool's Errand - Merlin's Plan
Heavy. That's what I felt. I went over to the table and picked up the scroll. It was sealed with a ribbon tied to it. Expecting it to be light, I was surprised at its heft. Underneath attached to the scroll was a small leather pouch. Coins, I would imagine to help me on my quest. I would look at that later. Tucking it into my jerkin, where my cowl sits round my shoulders, for camouflage, I went over to the door and told the guard, "Call the Lord Chancellor. The King wants to see him."

It is known we will need warriors, and your union has a long tradition of supplying these. Or perhaps your gifts lie in journalism and research, as do mine? Or then again, maybe you are creative, and your keen eye for composition and tone shall lend itself to holo-photography of our sector’s myriad natural wonders? To what pursuits will you devote your glimmering future, as yet but barely glimpsed, when that yearned-after time is upon you?”

Love this series! Not to be the nitpicky annoying person, but I think you've missed 'Uncertainty' from this list. I only found it because it's linked at the beginning of 'Decision'.
