Part 1
Theo's Sweet-tooth
Chapter One Miss Ulla, despite needing help, refused it. She had lived in her small Swedish village for ninety-two years and wasn't about to leave the house she was born in for an elderly care facility; in fact she would only allow people to leave notes or food on her back porch. The postwoman made one exception for Ulla, that being leaving her mail just inside the mud room door under a weighty stone. The trash collector often skipped her as she rarely threw anything away. In fact, other than a local hunter, Theo, she had not been seen by anyone is the last five or so years.

BEDTIME STORIES (PART 1)
Deep within the heart of a remote and uncharted rainforest lay a mysterious enchanted jungle, hidden from the prying eyes of civilization. Very few dared to venture into its depths, for tales of the jungle's enchantment had spread throughout the region, and its secrets remained a source of both fascination and fear.

At least in the wagon he still had his brothers with him.

Basic Training
Note: I wrote this opening chapter as part of a challenge with a separate online page. I wondered if I would win by entering into the mind of a drill sergeant dealing with new recruits and introducing them to their weapon. The language is very rough, as it has always been with military training. It is necessary for the mentality that the average soldier will need for facing combat and the possibility of death.
