BARE HUNTER
When I got home, I checked the invisible tape on the front and back doors before entering. No one had messed with my apartment while I was gone. The first time in days I didn’t need to overload meds to fall asleep. I chugged a liter of OJ, brushed my teeth, and passed out, exhausted from the day.

God damned Becca. Today, of all days. she has to pull her shit on me. Why couldn’t she disappear and leave me alone? Maybe I’ll start paying for ass instead of dating. It's so complicated and messy. We dated for like, what, six or seven weeks and she thought I was going to fucking marry her or something? One slip, and we could lose all of the government business.

Chapter 4 Sandy had left about a dozen texts on my phone during the day. I had turned off notifications from her a few weeks ago, as it was getting on my nerves. I figured I could always catch up with her demands of the day when I got home from work. They were the typical, “Did you send the check out yet? I have to pay the babysitter and I’m out of cash. “You can’t take Timmy next weekend, my parents will be in town,” and so on. Why couldn’t all women be like Phyllis? Easy with no strings attached.
