Love After Liberation: A Journey of Trust, Wholeness & Second Chances
Closing Part : The Amen Of My Heart

I thought love was lost in the ashes.
I thought joy had been swallowed by grief.
The wreckage of yesterday felt final,
and I braced myself for a life lived half-full.
But You, Lord, breathed life again.
Not through hurried hands or fragile promises,
but through Your steady, unbroken love.
In the silence of prayer, in the stillness of night,
I learned that endings are not the end with You.
You taught me that healing moves like dawn -
quiet, faithful, inevitable.
I did not notice at first.
Then one morning the weight was lighter,
the air was clearer,
and hope stood at the edge of my bed like a new friend.
Silence as Sanctuary
You taught me that silence can be sacred.
That waiting is not wasting.
That wholeness is the soil
where true love can grow.
There were nights when I mistook Your silence for absence.
I begged for answers, only to be met with quiet.
But over time I discovered: silence can heal.
In the hush of unanswered prayers,
You were strengthening my soul,
teaching me to rest before I received,
teaching me to stand before I was held.
“Be still, and know that I am God.” (Psalm 46:10)
Teach me, Lord, to listen without panic,
to wait without bitterness,
to trust the slow work of grace.
Let the quiet become a classroom,
and the stillness a sanctuary.
The First Love
Now I know:
Your love is the first love,
the only unconditional embrace.
Your peace - it surpasses understanding,
and it guards me like a shield.
Earthly love can be beautiful,
but it is never flawless.
Human arms may hold me for a moment,
but only Yours can hold me forever.
Human words may comfort me for a season,
but only Yours breathe life eternal.
So even as I open my heart to love again,
I anchor my soul in You.
Because every other love is fragile -
but Yours is everlasting.
And when new affection knocks at my door,
let me answer from abundance, not lack,
from discernment, not fear.
“If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God,
who gives generously to all without finding fault,
and it will be given to you.” (James 1:5, NIV)
Released From Begging
So I do not beg for scraps anymore.
I do not barter for affection.
I do not fear empty arms.
Once, I thought I had to earn love -
by being quieter, smaller, less.
But You taught me that I am already chosen.
Already beloved. Already whole.
No longer will I shrink to fit someone’s shadow.
No longer will I carry the weight of someone’s insecurity.
I will not trade my birthright as Your child
for the fleeting approval of man.
I will measure every promise by its fruit,
every pursuit by its peace,
every vow by its reverence for You.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight.” (Proverbs 3:5–6, NIV)
A Prayer for Future Love
And if You, Lord, write another love into my story,
let it be one that reflects Your heart.
Let it mirror Your kindness,
and honor the wholeness You have given me.
Let it be patient when I falter,
gentle when I am weary,
and joyful when I rise.
Let it be a partnership of faith,
a union of purpose,
a testimony that love redeemed is more radiant than love first imagined.
Teach us to choose slowly,
to speak truth tenderly,
to forgive without enabling harm,
to guard the sacred and celebrate the good.
Let our home be a small cathedral
where Your name is loved
and Your peace is practiced.
I do not ask for perfection.
I ask for presence.
I do not demand grandeur.
I long for grace.
Let laughter be our language
and service our song.
Let honesty steady us,
and hope keep watch at our door.
Benediction
Until then, and even then,
my soul rests in You.
In laughter and in tears,
in companionship and in solitude,
in abundance and in waiting -
I rest.
You are the Amen of my heart.
The first and final Word.
The Author and Finisher of my faith.
The Keeper of every promise,
the Giver of every good thing.
So I close this journey not with fear,
but with faith.
Not with desperation,
but with devotion.
Not with longing,
but with love.
Make me a witness to Your wholeness.
Make me a shelter of Your peace.
Let those who meet me meet mercy,
and those who stay find rest.
And when love arrives in Your time,
let it find me already full -
rooted in Your kindness,
steady in Your wisdom,
and radiant with Your joy.
Amen.
