On the other side of town we now see Emily and her husband, former football hero Marc getting ready for the tenth year reunion. They had gotten married two years and a half after graduating from Lincoln High and Emily dyed her hair back to dark brown in mid 2002 after sporting it in raven black which she had while being a sophomore. At that point, she began wearing baggy black pants, t-shirts with different wordings, a black trench coat, black Timberlands, a small nose ring and dyed raven black hair. Many of her classmates saw her a freak even before her own makeover during the summer before. She mainly did not like the cheerleading team especially Valerie and their fight did not help matters. Emily felt that things would never change. But in 2002 she traded that style for fitted jeans, dress shirts, sneakers and switched her hoop nose ring for a small diamond one before she stopped wearing them completely by the year after. She is getting dressed for the reunion as her phone rings and she quickly answers it.

“Hello” she says, waiting for the other person to answer.

“Emily this is Elle” it turns out it was former classmate and cheerleader Elle. Now, Emily was somewhat close to Elle as she was the only one, probably next to Brooke, that was nice to her.

“Val is probably not going to make it to the reunion. She hadn’t decided yet” Elle says to Emily over the phone.

“What’s going on?” Emily responds despite not really being fond of Valerie.

“It’s really much of a personal matter. She didn’t say what it was” Elle replies.

“Alright, thank you.” Emily says to her before they both hang up. Then Marc enters the room.

“Who was that?” he asks Emily while putting on his blazer.

“Elle. She told me Valerie might or might not show up. Who knows at this point?” she says while putting on a watch. Marc looked very confused on why Emily would be slightly invested in knowing what was going on with the one person she did not like the most. Although it has been a decade, he figured the tension between them had died down since then. When he and Emily got married, Marc had gone to coach football at the local college nearby the home they live in and which they share with their daughter.

“I heard Francis was going too. But he probably changed his mind at the last second.” Marc says to Emily.

“I thought you stopped talking to him a while ago.” she says in a confused manner.

“I never said that. I just don’t talk to him as much as before.” Marc replies. He and Francis saw less and less of each other within the previous year when Francis and Valerie had gone through a brief period of separation. During that time, Marc had taken on half of the hours he normally did at the college because it had got in the way of things.

“Let’s just hope that after ten years, Lincoln High has become better” Emily says to him as she is putting on a jacket. The two head out of the house with Emily’s mother watching their daughter for the night. Emily and Marc drove down to the school for the reunion and she was still feeling concerned about what was and what was about to be at the moment. When they drove into the parking lot a few minutes after Megan and Peter had, they noticed the changes too.

“What the hell?” Emily asks herself after seeing the school’s new look.

“I guess they finally changed that sign after all,” Marc says with glee, noticing that the school might have gone through changes. The two walk into the school together.

High school reunions where people (classmates) are different but seem to remain the same when entering school reunions.
