Chapter Four-Meet And Greet At Craven Cottage

After an international break lasting over a week, Kia Ford came back to the British scene ready to encounter whatever the English Premiere had to offer in their United Kingdom, pretty confident about how things were proceeding the American seemed satisfied with her table placement.
Relaxed, the star-spangled west ham mover and shaker investigated contents, saved in her desk top computer cyberworld, catching up on small details which could obtain three points. Retrieving password security clearance, the forever hammer girl, scrolled through emails.
Suddenly, bright bold words invited the newcomer, “CRAVEN COTTAGE OPEN HOUSE, See new models, take one home under our special rental contractual agreements”
“Models, rental contractual agreements,” Kia Ford confirmed, “this is something that I would be interested in,” she pondered, filling out the electronic reservation form.
Wearing traditional work uniform attire, Kia Ford ventured across town, towards the picturesque community and Craven cottages. Upon arrival, the lured patron greeted the owner, “nice to meet you,”
“Thank you,” the businessman cordially responded stepping aside encouraging visitors ‘go down the path you cannot miss the sales pitch theatrical arena’.
“We have some nice finger foods, and open bar,” Mr. Craven offered.
“Well, that sounds great,” Kia Ford acknowledged, adjusting her pocketbook.
Browsing the museum area outside the pitching zone, many different local artifacts were displayed, and Kia Ford came too close to one, developing a very upsetting situation.
“You touched that,” a volunteer exclaimed bringing momentary stoppage and attention, during the time everyone kicked things around.
“I did not,” Kia Ford quickly defended herself making the whole scene quietly disappear.
A few minutes elapsed, Mr. Craven took to the stage, “I have one goal today,” he declared, “to let you know we offer cottage models for rental, under special contractual agreements.”
Hearing the message Kia Ford acted impressed, nearly turning the simple meet and greet into a business transaction, until she reminded herself, “I have no goals, at this second.”
During the intermission everyone separated, and fifteen minutes later, Mr. Craven told the group ‘reconvene, listen, same presentation performed’.
“Located off in a marshy meadow area, a lovely model we have here exhibiting,” Craven explained microphone in hand about the final location. Seeing the pictures on the big screen Kia Ford fell in love and considered researching the property her goal for the day, “I may want to invest in that,” she dreamed.
Game ending whistles sounded, and Kia Ford made her way to the door purposely allowing Mr. Craven an interacting chance, “did you find any goals today?” He inquired.
“Well, yes,” Kia Ford replied, “the lot you named ‘ings’, the cabin overlooking the water meadows, really caught my eye.”
“They are cottages, Kia Ford, Cravin Cottages, not cabins,” he clarified correcting the colonist.
“Well, I made the ings a goal for today,”
“I know you are not coming back this year,” Mr. Craven honestly spoke, “but if you make the top eight.”
“Anything can happen,” Kia Ford concluded the statement then saying good bye exited the scene.
Getting a last-minute goal, needing extra time, motivated Kia Ford as she traveled home. Entering the studio apartment the Peacock met her half way knowing the successful trip benefited his bottom line.
“I brought a goal back, got it right before the closing bell,” she told the colorful fowl, “and it was a beautiful ing.”
Noticing the Peacock signal a going out urge, she grabbed the leash and the two walked a few blocks.
“What do we have next?” She inquired watching him spread his feathers.
“Yes, of course, that young talent is coming early Saturday to sing the blues,” Kia Ford remembered, “Chelsea is her name.”
