I AM BLUE

Something I have come to understand. When I am still…very still…Peace will always find me.

By Greg T. HallPublished about a year ago 1 min read

It was a great Bluebird nesting season this year. Enduring initial cold spells and later…intense heat…my mated pair of Eastern Bluebirds laid three successive and successful nests. In total, they gave me fourteen more “little blue” reasons to smile.

Although September has arrived…to my delight…Mom, Dad and many of their fledglings still visit a special place on my property called “Bluebird Corner”.

From my perch on the back porch, I can watch them there, dining on an endless supply of mealworms and splashing about in brimming birdbaths.

So…I watch.

They are my reset button…my priceless peace. They are everyday evidence of the beauty that still remains in my tumultuous world.

Who knows what tomorrow may bring?

However, it is not “tomorrow”…it is today.

I am content to gaze out upon this azure slice of Heaven…this carefully carved-out corner of my backyard.

Today…I am blue.
