
Abnormal development in parts of brain (motor areas of cerebral cortex) that control movement before birth.
Causes:
Prenatal

Prenatal: Maternal
Hypoxic : Shortness of oxygen in blood.
Ischemic: Shortness of blood flow to brain.
Encephalopathy: Resultant Brain Damage.
Age Factor.
Perinatal:
High or Low Blood Pressure.
Over Sedation of Drugs.
Breech Delivery.
Forceps and Vacuum Delivery.
Postnatal:
Case registered is 75% before birth where as 15%-20% after birth.
Symptoms:
Difficulty in swallowing.
Reduce joint ROM.
Muscle Stiffness.
Optic muscle imbalance.
Ataxic Condition.
Types:
Pyramidal- Paraplegia, Hemiplegia, Diplegia, Quadriplegia/Tetraplegia, Monoplegia, Triplegia
Paraplegia: Paralysis primarily affects lower-body mobility. People suffering with paraplegia may be unable to move their legs, feet, and, in certain cases, abdomen.
Hemiplegia: Paralysis that affects only one side of the body. This symptom is frequently used to indicate serious or life-threatening disorders such as a stroke, although it can also occur with less harmful conditions and circumstances.
Diplegia: a type of immobility that affects identical bodily parts on either side of the body, such both legs or both arms.
Quadriplegia/Tetraplegia: Loss of motion of the arms and legs (and significant muscles in the middle); Urinary maintenance and gut brokenness brought about by absence of muscle control; Trouble breathing (a few quadriplegics require helped breathing gadgets).
Monoplegia: Paralysis or Immobilization of one limb.
Triplegia: Immobility of three limbs of body.
Extra pyramidal- Athetoid
Mixed-Ataxic Cerebral Palsy
