Fresh from another speech, Loreen felt anew. Everything that she poured into those talks truly awakened the financial giant in her tiny frame. The feeling remained fleeting. Socialista crossed her path.
“Very good up there,” Socialista said with cynicism dripping in her words.
“Don’t you have some rally to attend to destroy lives and wreck the economy?” Loreen retorted.
“Ha,” Socialista offered. “No, I’m saying you have a ‘way with words,’” Socialista droned.
“I don’t believe you for a second. You’re concerned with destroying private property and leveling everyone on the same playing field regardless of ability or achievement,” Loreen proclaimed. It was like she had been training for this moment in the gym of the mind.
“So you say. I’ve got far better plans for this city, country, and world. My works will bring a utopia to the barren land of capitalistic leanings. I mean I’m a capitalist, really,” Socialista sneered.
Loreen’s laugh bubbled up from her soul and sounded clear, clean, and unobtrusive. It seemed to burst outward but in a quiet way as to not draw attention to herself.
“Listen, you have got to stop making these statements. They’re hurting my sides!” Loreen exclaimed, finally.
Socialista studied Loreen. She looked her up and down and noticed that she had about eight inches more in height than the diminutive dynamo. She didn’t want a physical brawl but something churned in her spirit. Something kept its grip on her with a vice like tug. She, through desperation, wanted to know how Loreen kept winning.
“How do you do it?” Socialista asked.
“How do you keep audiences and save businesses?” She asked with sincerity this time.
“I do what you won’t. I do what you refuse to do. It’s a matter of will.”
Socialista nodded, then turned, and walked away.
