Government regulations on toys proved to be rather pernicious. On the surface, it looked like they protected children. What lay underneath, however, remained the fact that bureaucrats just wanted to control companies who wanted to turn a profit. Loreen and Lisa held the dolls in their hands. The hair felt synthetic and the dimensions seemed a bit off, but they held them.

GrowthPlay CEO Baritha Battle looked at the two women.

“So?”

Loreen and Lisa didn’t look at each other, just Baritha.

“It seems like you used every bit of what the State bureaucrats wanted you to implement to make these dolls….” Loreen suggested.

“You’re absolutely right. We couldn’t use polyurethane because of the properties that don't degrade fast enough. That hair you’re stroking is made from a litany of different strands pulled from animal hair. It may appear to be synthetic, but it’s made from mole hairs.”

“And how much would this retail for right now?” Lisa asked.

“They’d go for forty dollars.”

Lisa and Loreen shot glances at each other.

“That’s simply unacceptable,” Loreen remarked. “I know that the government is bearing down on you. That’s why the price is so high. You don’t have the wherewithal to fight against them. That’s why we’re here. We can go straight to the desks of the men and women who have instituted these ideas.”

“It would be a lifted burden from my shoulders….” Baritha admitted.

“Yes, we can set up a plan to show that everything they think about the ‘environment’ is false. And if there is some truth, it is often cloaked in misrepresentation. We will do everything in our power to ensure that your products don’t have to be made from mole hairs.”

“They didn’t want us to use animals. We went with the mammal.”

“Yes,” Loreen stated.
