Eyebrows raised at the reward amount. Loreen smiled. It was a genuine one, but it had been tempered by the gravity of the moment.
“We’ve gotta show a message,” Entrepreneur Paul mentioned.
“That’s what we just did,” Loreen replied.

Lisa still felt catatonic. She slapped on a courageous appearance but that only went so far. Still recovering from the traumatic loss of her personal and professional items, she tried her best to keep her composure despite the circumstances.
Between the varying degrees of expression, she looked out into the world from Loreen’s apartment building in the city. She stood with some coffee in her hand. The sight of police tape and forensics teams combing through her room caused her to shudder. Loreen walked up to her.
“Hey.”
“Hey.”
“If you want, we could make the guest house––” Loreen started.
“Thanks, no. Ken and I are going to the beach house,” Lisa snapped.
“Sorry, I’m just––”
“It’s okay. I know you’re shaken. You take as long as you want here.”
“Thanks, Lor,’” Lisa mentioned. “I appreciate everything you both are doing.”
She looked out at the rising of the sun. Meanwhile, Ken spoke with investigators. He didn’t fidget or strain. He looked composed.
“Mr. Devlin, how long have you known Miss Conway?”
“I met her about two months ago.”
“Did you have access to her hard drive or any other materials?”
“No.”
“How much did you know about the site behind the scenes? Were you privy to information that few other people had.”
“She didn’t tell me anything about the site. I didn't ask any questions.”
“Thank you, that’s all we need.”
