Businesswoman Chapter 28

On the scene, a group of c-suite executives sat around their CEO like he was a campfire.

“Today marks a mournful day in this business, this piece of our souls that we had not yet fully realized,” Allred Bonaventure declared. In the midst, Socialista, Common Man, and Fasciser all rushed to give their two cents on the reality of the situation.

“Of course you’ve gotta liquidate. It’s for the benefit of the whole, not the individual,” Common Man intoned.

Socialista exclaimed, “Exactly! It is not business we’re after, it’s just that we should equalize everyone so they’re on the same playing field. Your company failed to do that and now it is over.” She grinned a malicious, malignant grin.

“Of course,” said Fasciser, “We can just institute a government which holds the reins over enterprise….”

“Yes!” Socialista and Common Man rejoined. The members of the c-suite wiped away tears. Bonaventure looked and asked, “Who let you in this office?”

“You called for help, so we’re here. We don’t get along for the most part, but we have one thing that connects us….”

“What’s that?” the CEO asked.

“Collectivism!” they shouted.

“In that case, I’m calling Businesswoman.”

“Why get her involved? And that pipsqueak Businessgirl?” Common Man asked.

“I—” Bonaventure started. A knock came at the door. Bonaventure tapped a button and there stood in fresh ladies’ suits, prim and proper, Loreen and Lisa. The three collectives inched their way out of the door.

“This continues,” Fasciser yelped.

“Not for long,” Lisa replied. The three of them shuffled away and out of the building.

Finally, the COO Idelia Vox rushed to the two women.

“Our company has failed. Is there anything you both can do?”

“Yes,” Loreen responded. “Witness it fail. Let it flounder. Out of the ashes will rise greatness.”
