Socialista broke a pencil. She got up from her seat and sharpened it. Common Man peered into Fascinder’s eyes with fire and intensity.

“We’re going to be the ones who determine history again, only without all the reports of erroneous massacres. Collectivism is the reason why we breathe.”

“I know. I know.” Fascinder rolled his eyes and rolled off the counter lazily.

Common Man stood in a black bulletproof vest. Socialista wore tight black jeans with a t-shirt. Fascinder wore all black with big chunky boots.

“We just need to do more than hold up signs and yell. Those goddamned private property creeps keep crying that their precious pieces of land are being overrun,” Socialista pointed out.

“You needn’t worry about that,” Common Man tried to reassure. His voice sounded gravelly and worn. He popped open some beer and drank the hold can in a single gulp.

Fascinder dropped some acid. Socialists abstained. She wanted to be completely sober through all of this.

“What we need to do is choose a leader for all of this,” Socialista suggested.

“I’m the leader. My way is the best out of all of us. Your collectivist contributions are welcome but they cannot catch up to my social system.”

Fascinder and Socialista looked at each other and shrugged. “Okay,” they said with a rise in their voices.

“I’m serious, goddammit!” His face reddened. He kicked over a pail of trash.

“If we don’t put me out there on the frontlines, they’re not going to take the cause seriously.”

Fascinder flashed a ghastly grin. “Yes, except my way of dealing with the world is certainly more emphatic and in your face. My force is not your force.”

“You’re both wrong. Your systems failed,” Socialista announced. “Now, my way is cool and enjoyable. It’s the best.”

The mix of political commentary, personal ego, and raw action makes this chapter feel intense and unpredictable. Can’t wait to see who truly takes the lead!
