Fascinder let out an acidic chuckle. He rubbed his hands together almost as if he were praying.
“We did it. We got the national and international coverage we always wanted,” he declared.
“So what? We didn’t get much accomplished. Thanks to the police and that damn Businesswoman. I know it was her,” Socialista fumed.
“Don’t worry about it. We’ve got this,” Common Man tried to console Socialista.
“Okay, but we did get more exposure….” Fascinder reminded. Socialista’s frown darkened and she flopped on the cushy couch.
“What we have to do is regroup. We almost got hauled off to jail. We’ve gotta be wiser about our operations. That’s the reality of all this. We’ve become too lax with our demonstrations,” Common Man explained.
“Yes,” Fascinder replied. “That’s it. We have to ‘regroup.’ Come on! We’re doing fine. The Individualists are running scared and not knowing what to do with us.” A grin crept onto his face.
“If you two would stop arguing, we might get somewhere,” Socialista announced. She walked to the center of the room. “I think there is a way we can not only get exposure, but have a great impact on the culture.”
“What are we going to have, a music festival?” Fascinder quipped sourly.
Socialista pursed her lips and then spoke again. “No, we start our own 501 (c) (3).”
“We already have one….” Common Man replied.
“That’s defunct, remember?” Fascinder shot back.
Common Man looked stunned, even stung. He looked up again after a brief time of hanging his head.
“We get a nonprofit going aimed at all collectives. We will be able to gather people together and determine just how people are committed to the role of the group that is over the individual.”
The two men stared at the young woman with seriousness.
