Boundaries and barriers stood up against Atkinson. He yearned for a place of social interaction and monetary exchange. The tax code hit him first like a city bus. He looked at Chief Technology Officer Eva Labrea.
“There’s a beautiful site with superior functionality….” she trailed off some.
“But….” he leaned in a bit.
“But we have to go through the amount of taxes levied against us. There’s an electronics tax, a communications tax….And never mind the regulations and controls.”
“You should have led in with that,” Atkinson snickered with wit.
“They want—”
“The government….”
“The government,” Eva replied. “They want to monitor every exchange, every transmission, everything.”
“I’m just focused on a business. If I were to just spin around and count my billions, I could just be away from all this. They’d love me to just not have any money and seek the government for handouts. I’ll be damned.”
“‘Entrepreneur Paul’ Atkinson, take care to keep up battling with verve. There should only be private regulators instead of the State thumbing through our records or suing us for actually doing something of worth, of value.”
Atkinson looked at the professional before him. She sat with her legs crossed and her hand in her lap. A strand of hair fell from her black onto her brown skin. She sat like she was posing for a photograph.
“We’ll do more than say, ‘leave us alone.’ They’ll come knocking, the government. We have to allow them to do what we can so we can whirl around and challenge everything they initiated and burn the plans down to the earth.”
Eva’s eyes widened and she shifted in her chair. “The right. We can initiate a great amount of press and advertising in order to show we’re serious about the mission to make money.”

Businesses need rules and regulations to keep out the crooks. Just saying 😂😂😂🌹
This tax and regulation talk hits home. Dealing with red tape in business is a pain. You've gotta find ways to work around it, like Eva's idea of using press and ads.
