Businesswoman Chapter 149
Coolness

By holding the phone in her hand and talking through the earbud, Loreen could conduct business while also reviewing her bank statements. When she looked up from the mobile device, she noticed that the evening had turned to night. On her desk sat multiple pieces of correspondence. Most of it pertained to this powerhouse speech she and Lisa were to deliver in a few weeks. She looked over them and shut off the voice droning in her ear. It was a telecommunications specialist who possessed a penchant for running off at the mouth.
Loreen took her time to look over the various pages. Most of them indicated she could complete them online. She took to her desktop computer like a daredevil switches from one part of the body of a flying plane to another. She looked at the forms. They seemed simple enough. By filling in all of the information, she wished to complete all of this in fifteen minutes and get back to her day job.
With her back off of the chair, she swiveled around and noticed footsteps. They sounded heavy. Then, Herschel poked his head into her study.
“‘Night, Babe,” he called.
“‘Night,” Loreen responded.
A note of exasperation melted away at the sound of her husband’s voice. It made it all seem right. Like a calming stream, the many too many shouts and mumblings in her brain had been silenced with two words. Her mind felt clear and light. A list of different businesses asking for her assistance piled up like white blocks of ice. There existed a coolness in her thoughts. As she squished a stress ball, she peered at the number of pages she had to sort through. Then she remembered that her lawyers specialized in this very thing. The focus shifted to businesses.

Loreen is a wonderful; multi-tasker as we all have to be some form of of person who does everything. I think about that movie, Everything Everywhere at once!
This story makes me think about how we juggle so many tasks these days. Loreen's got work, bills, and a big speech to prepare for. I can relate to being swamped with stuff. It's tough to stay focused. Do you think she'll manage to get everything done in just 15 minutes? And how do you handle having a million things on your plate?
