Businesswoman Chapter 114

Device

By Skyler SaundersPublished 9 months ago 1 min read

When Common Man walked, it was a labored, heavy stroll. He kind of stomped when he walked. He kept going down the street with the cold wind beating down on him. He walked into a coffee shop. Some beads of rain had rested on his brow. He shook off those droplets. By looking around the room, his stomach grew tighter. The signs of commerce, the trading of value for value, nearly made him puke. He stomached it, though. He ordered a small coffee which was actually called a “tall” coffee here. He waved it off. In his net worth, he had millions of dollars. At the same time, he preached about the day when the lower classes would rule over the middle and upper classes. This contradiction was not lost on Common Man. He kind of enjoyed being split-minded.

A little chair and table sat aligned to the window. As the rain fell, he typed into his smartphone. With plans to gather up the rest of the Collectivists, he thought about sending all of them a message of encouragement through all the adversity they had been dealt by Loreen and the Individualists. He punched the screen with stubby thumbs like it was a body bag. Blow after blow meant that ideas flowed from his brain to the device. He sipped some coffee. In all of the confusion and the public’s swaying trust toward the Individualists, Common Man decided to set up some kind of community banking system that didn’t champion ability but need.

For him, he felt like people would latch onto this idea rather than concerning themselves with millionaires and billionaires. Common Man did this without considering how these individuals built their fortunes. The neglect to think about this put him in a space where he failed to comprehend.
