Nan's life was never ordinary. Born with both male and female reproductive systems, he appeared to be a normal boy but experienced the physical challenges of a menstruating girl.

As a young boy, Nan looked like any other boy his age. However, he has a condition known as congenital sex differentiation anomaly. While his classmates fantasized about girls and sports, Nan was secretly battling abdominal pain a few days each month, a symptom typically associated with menstruation. At first, his mother believed it was a simple stomach problem, but no amount of medication seemed to help. Then, one day, Nan noticed bright red blood in the urinal at school. The shocking sight left him and his classmates stunned.

Instead of offering support, his peers taunted him, calling him "girly" and treating him like an outcast. The relentless bullying eroded Nan's self-esteem, making him feel like an anomaly. Despite his efforts to fit in, he couldn't escape the torment, and the physical pain only grew worse over time.

Nan's parents, initially oblivious to the severity of the situation, rushed him to the hospital after witnessing the blood for themselves. However, the doctor who attended to Nan dismissed his condition as a common infection and recommended a visit to the urology department. The dismissal gave Nan a false sense of security, allowing him to take time off from school to relax and play video games. But the respite was short-lived.

When Nan returned to school, his abdominal pain intensified, and during a run, he collapsed. The school nurse, shocked to see bloodstains on his clothes, suspected he was having a period—an unimaginable scenario for a boy. This incident prompted Nan's parents to seek further medical advice, leading to a series of tests that revealed the truth: Nan was intersex, with both male and female reproductive systems. The diagnosis was earth-shattering for his parents, who were terrified of how this would affect their son's life.

Nan's parents made the drastic decision to proceed with gender reassignment surgery without Nan's knowledge or consent. They believed that by removing his male organs and forcing him to live as a girl, they were protecting him from a future of uncertainty and possible cancer. However, this decision was not made with Nan's wishes in mind, and when he awoke to find his body altered, he was devastated.

Nan's parents forced him to adopt a female identity, pushing him to grow out his hair, wear dresses, and embrace a lifestyle he never wanted. His new life as a girl brought him no peace; instead, it only deepened his sense of loss and confusion. Despite outward appearances, Nan still felt like a boy, and the disconnect between his identity and his body left him in a state of perpetual torment.

The only solace Nan found was in his friendship with Chi, a kind-hearted classmate who helped him navigate his new reality. Chi taught Nan how to manage his periods, shop for hygiene products, and find small joys in life. However, even this friendship was tainted by betrayal. When Chi inadvertently revealed Nan's secret to their classmates, the bullying resumed with even greater ferocity.

The final blow came when Nan discovered that the medication he believed was for depression was actually estrogen, prescribed to enforce his transition to female. This revelation shattered the last remnants of trust he had in his parents and doctors. Nan's anguish culminated in a mental breakdown. He dressed in white, applied makeup, and danced to music, not in celebration, but as a final act of defiance before ending his life.

Nan's story is a tragic reflection on the consequences of denying someone their identity and autonomy. His life was shaped by the decisions of others—decisions made without his consent or consideration of his feelings. Nan never had the opportunity to choose his path, and as a result, he endured unimaginable pain and suffering. His story serves as a stark reminder of the importance of respecting individual identity and the devastating impact of forcing someone to live a life that is not their own.
