Anger is Man's biggest enemy
king and parrot

Anger is man's biggest enemy*
Once a king gets lost in a dense forest where he feels very thirsty. He does not find water even after searching everywhere. His throat was getting dry due to thirst, then his eyes fell on a tree where a few drops of water were falling from a branch. The king went near that tree and made a bowl of leaves lying on the ground and started filling it with those drops. Somehow, after taking a lot of time, the bowl got filled and the king was happy and as soon as he raised the bowl near his mouth to drink the water, a parrot sitting in front of him came making a 'tete' sound, snatched the bowl and sat back in front and all the water in the bowl fell down. The king was disappointed that he got water with great difficulty and that too was dropped by this bird, but what can be done now. Thinking this, he started filling the empty bowl again. After a lot of effort the bowl got filled again and the king was again happy and as soon as he lifted the bowl to drink water the same parrot sitting in front came making the sound 'ten ten' and snatched the bowl and made it fall and sat in front again.
Now the king became angry out of frustration and said that I am very thirsty, I am collecting water with so much hard work and this evil bird comes and spoils all my hard work, now I will not leave it, when it comes back I will kill it. Thus the king takes the whip in his hand and starts filling the bowl again. After a long time, the bowl is filled with water. Then the king lifts the bowl to drink and the parrot again starts making the sound 'ten ten' and comes near to snatch the bowl. The king hits the parrot with the whip and the parrot dies right there. Then the king thinks that he has got rid of the parrot but when will he be able to fill the bowl again with these drops and when will he be able to quench his thirst. So he goes to the branch from where the water is dripping and fills it quickly. Thinking this, the king goes to the branch from where the water was dripping. When the king goes there and looks, the ground beneath his feet slips away. Because a terrible python was sleeping on that branch and saliva was dripping from the mouth of that python. What the king thought was water was actually the poisonous saliva of the python. A sea of remorse rises in the king's mind that O Lord! What have I done? The bird which was repeatedly saving me from drinking the poison, I killed it out of anger.
If only I had followed the path of forgiveness shown by the saints and controlled my anger, then this innocent bird who was my well-wisher would not have lost its life. Oh God, what a big sin have I committed in ignorance? Alas, what have I done! Inspired by such deep remorse, that king becomes sad. That is why it is said that the one who has forgiveness and mercy is a true hero.
In anger, a person causes a lot of harm to himself as well as others.
Anger is that poison which originates from ignorance and ends with repentance. Therefore, one should always control anger.
